The new, 30th Anniversary Edition of the game will include HD graphics and illustrations in addition to the ability for players to gain and share achievements, with the help of the game’s official twitter feed @h2g2game. In 2004, the 20th Anniversary Edition launched. Players of the game made over 3 million total moves in only the first 3 days of launch. 50 million moves had been played within the six following months. The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy Game is a text based adventure conceived by author Douglas Adams thirty years ago. The game follows Arthur Dent as he survives the end of Earth, Vogon Poetry, and general misadventures through space. The text based adventure follows the events of the books and can be insanely difficult at times, especially without knowledge of the book or show. Whether you succeed or fail at the goals of the game, expect entertainment at every turn.

The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy Game (and radio show) launch Saturday, March 8th at around 1pm Eastern time and will be available on the BBC Radio 4 Extra website.
