According to Bill Farmer, the voice actor for Disney icon Goofy, Kingdom Hearts III will be released in 2015. Yes. This year.
The popular Kingdom Hearts fansite, KH13, compiled a list of tweets and replies made by the actor today with regards to the game itself. According to his tweets, which you can check out here, Farmer has already finished recording his dialogue for the game and that he was told Kingdom Hearts III would be released this year.
I, for one, am not convinced as this would be a total contradiction to what series director Tetsuya Nomura has been saying for the past two years. As Nomura has been saying so many times, Final Fantasy XV and Kingdom Hearts III shared the same development team and the former title is supposed to be released before Kingdom Hearts III does. With that in mind, it is extremely unlikely that Kingdom Hearts III will see its launch this year.
It’s entirely possible that Farmer might have mistaken the title with Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance, a game that has been rumored to be making its way to the PS3 soon. For all we know, he could have been referring to lines recorded for the Final Mix version of Dream Drop Distance.
In any case, neither Disney nor Square Enix have commented on the issue, and we’ll let you know as more information comes our way. In the meantime, you can quench your Kingdom Hearts thirst with Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 ReMIX, which saw its release just last month.
