Fan-Made CryEngine Bioshock Intro Looks Stunning

Fan-made Bioshock intro footage in CryEngine shows why the series should be re-released for PS4 and Xbox One.

It’s incredible what dedicated fans will do in honour of their favourite game series, and this may well be one of the most impressive for Bioshock yet.

gametime414 uploaded the above video to Vimeo, showing the gameplay they created of the original Bioshock opening scenes with the use of CryEngine 3.5.8, and well I can’t say I’m not impressed.

Given this seems to have been a one person project the scale of improvements is nothing to be scoffed at in comparison to the original, and that’s saying something given how pretty the original Bioshock still looks today.

Having watched the video, I think it’s fair to say that a remastered Bioshock, or a Bioshock ‘Ultimate Collection’ of some sort would be pretty damn awesome… please 2K and Irrational Games…please? Give us all a triple shot of Bioshock on one handy disc looking as good or better than this and watch fans lose their shit.

Commenters on the video over at the NeoGaf thread however seemed to have mixed opinions on the need for an ‘UpRes’ version of the game, however definitely wanted an isometric style Bioshock that would look a little bit like this.

Please excuse me whilst I write a plea to 2K and Irrational Games to make this happen as well.

What do you think of the video and the isometric idea? Which would you prefer to see get released, if any? Or would you rather developers leave what has been done and focus on something new? Let us know in the comments below.
