Fallout Shelter for Android Devices Slated to Be Released This August

Vault-Tec is going to have a field day later this summer...

If there is one thing Bethesda Game Studios knows how to do, it certainly knows how to deliver. During Bethesda’s first ever E3 2015 press conference, it set the bar high by dealing out an act unrivaled in its classiness. It had announced and immediately released its free-to-play, smash hit mobile game Fallout Shelter shortly after conference had finished up. From personal experience (I’ve sunk so many hours into this – help!), this game undoubtedly deserves its claim to the throne as a best-selling mobile title beating out the likes of Candy Crush. It is utterly addicting and satisfying.

Alas, at its initial launch, the game was only available for download and play on iOS devices. Poor Android users around the world proceed with the wailing and gnashing of teeth as they were barred from becoming Overseers of their own Vaults. This is just plain cruel given the fact that the Fallout 4 Pip Boy Editions won’t be compatible with most, if any, Android phones. At least give the latter a since of solace!

However, Android phone users now have reason to rejoice – the metaphorical light at the end of the Vault tunnel, so to speak. According to a couple of tweets posted by Pete Hines, current Vice President of PR and Marketing, Fallout Shelter is slated to arrive on Android devices this coming August.

While no specific launch date has been announced, the tweet seeks to ease calms and anxieties by stating it is following its projected development schedule. With the recent announcement that Fallout 4 character, Preston Garvey, is now joining the Fallout Shelter roster, for would-be Android Overseers – the next month may be an excruciating and harrowing wait. Hang in there, dear Wastelanders… waiting for another month isn’t exactly the end of the world, is it?
