Don’t Starve: Giant Edition on Its Way to Xbox One

Don't Starve completes its set with Xbox One.

Klei Entertainment’s indie action-adventure hit, Don’t Starve is set to make its way to Xbox One in the form of the ‘Giant Edition’.

Don’t Starve puts players in control of Wilson, an intrepid Gentleman Scientist who has been trapped by a demon and transported to a mysterious wilderness world. As Wilson, the player must learn to exploit the environment and its inhabitants in order to survive and find his way back home.

Don’t Starve: Giant Edition recently released on the Wii U and contains both the original Don’t Starve game and Reign of Giants expansion. Reign of Giants launched back in May 2014 on the PC and adds two new playable characters alongside a new world you have to survive in for a year.

While Don’t Starve has been available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, PlayStation 3, Wii U, and Steam for quite some time, there had been no news of the game coming to Xbox One. Until recently, that is.

The game’s developer took to Twitter once the announcement had been revealed by a leak that showed Don’t Starve had been rated for Xbox One.

Though Klei Entertainment had no other news on Don’t Starve making its debut on Microsoft’s home console, it’s still an exciting announcement for Xbox fans nonetheless, who have been waiting to get their hands on the game.

Don’t Starve currently has overwhelmingly positive reviews from the user community on Steam and a Metacritic score of 79. The game released back in 2013 to largely favourable reviews amongst critics and gained a lot of support amongst popular YouTubers such as TheSyndicateProject and PewDiePie.
