Last night, Destiny’s Taken King expansion was finally revealed with an action packed trailer. We’ve already gone into detail about their new superheroic sub-classes, but Bungie also announced a collector’s edition that’s filled with all the awesome swag. The good part is that it’ll come in physical and digital formats, and the great news is what’s inside.
Physical collector’s editions will come inside a limited steelbook case inside a special box with the logo of the Taken King. Inside are also “relics and artifacts”, aka playing cards and art based on the game. A modified journal filled with notes and drawings from Cayde-6 will be included as well. Even more interesting is the replica Strange Coin hidden inside the hollowed out journal. Both formats will give players three new class-specific emotes, an early access weapons pack, three exotic class items that reward XP while they’re worn, and three armor shaders. The CE will also come with the Destiny base game and the previous two expansions, The Dark Below and House of Wolves.
It’ll cost you $79.99 no matter which format you end up getting, but PS3 and 360 owners will only have the digital version available to them. Right now, the digital version is also up for pre-purchase, while the physical version is “coming soon”, so probably mid-July at the earliest. Destiny: The Taken King launches September 15.
