Destiny: The Taken King Delays The Raid Release Indefinitely

It's all about that Patience and Time.

At the PAX Prime 2015 YouTube Gaming stage, Destiny: The Taken King Director Luke Smith confirmed in an interview with IGN that the game will not have a raid upon the highly awaited September 15 release of the game. But not only will the raid not be there on day one, as of now, we have no information from Bungie about when players will have access to the King’s Fall raid.  Luke Smith’s exact words as quoted by IGN were:

“We definitely have a plan for when it’s going to be available. I’m not going to announce the plan for it on the YouTube gaming stage.

“But I promise for people who are excited about the raid will know when it’s time to take time off work. We’ll give em’ a heads up,”

While this has the potential to cause an outrage among certain players, there is potential logic behind this decision that makes a lot of sense. If Bungie were to include the raid at the release of the game, whether available immediately or after completing the new content in Destiny: The Taken King, it’s highly likely that many players would feel motivated to rush though that content in order to play the raid as they did with Crota’s End in The Dark Below.

With all the work that Bungie has put into enhancing the game through re-casting the ghost, re-designing the leveling system, reorganizing the existing story content, adding new subclasses, including quests, and more, it makes sense why they might want to give you some time to experience all of it before you move on to the Destiny: The Taken King endgame experience of the King’s Fall raid. But who knows? Maybe it’s not ready yet or maybe it’s something else entirely. Until we get more information, we can’t say for sure.

How do you feel about the Destiny: The Taken King raid delay? Do you understand Bungie’s logic? Just mad that you have to wait? Be sure to let us know in the comments.
