These amiibos Would Literally Fly Off Shelves

Want some awesome amiibos?

Nintendo may not have expected its amiibo program to go over so well. With popular amiibos flying off the shelves at rates that supply couldn’t keep up with, Nintendo fans felt more than a little slighted by Nintendo’s handling of the situation.

But since it was so wildly successful, and with a slew of new amiibos promised this year, maybe there are some others that should get the mini-figure treatment – and possibly a character spot in Super Smash Bros WiiU? Nintendo may have to exercise some creative licensing agreement magic, but their fans wouldn’t be able to get enough of these classic characters.

Tifa amiibo

Even a skin of Tifa for Little Mac would be enough, but an amiibo would be insanely in demand.

How badass would it be to have a little amiibo of Final Fantasy‘s number one slugger? Forget Cloud and all the other characters, this lady deserves the amiibo treatment. Plus, she would be a great addition to Super Smash Bros. They’ve obviously shown no shame in needlessly cloning characters like Pit and Mario, so a Little Mac clone with some materia specials would fit right in.

The rest of the Final Fantasy VII cast wouldn’t do poorly as amiibos, either, but there’s a certain…*ahem*…appeal to Tifa that would make her a perfect amiibo.

Persona Cast

Persona 4 amiibos would be so cool. Except maybe Yosuke.

The Persona series of JRPGs enjoys incredible popularity worldwide. And though they already have their own 2D fighting game, it’d be super neat to see them in an arena fighter like Super Smash. And as amiibos they’d be coveted collectibles. Admittedly Persona 3 might be a stretch; however, Persona 4 seems to enjoy the most attention in the States so why not little amiibos of Yukiko, Chie, Kanji, and Naoto?

Chell (Portal)

And if Chell came with a little turret, we would be so happy.

This character as a fighter in Super Smash would be unbelievably cool. Equipped with a portal gun, the possibilities for attacks are endless. And what better way to celebrate the crossover than with a little amiibo of Valve’s rockstar silent protagonist? If there was ever an amiibo that would fly off the shelves, it would be this one.

Vault Hunters

Athena would be a perfect addition to Super Smash Bros, let alone a popular amiibo.

So maybe gamers don’t have enough money to shell out 400 bucks for Gearbox’s absurdly expensive Borderlands: The Handsome Collection. Fair enough. But what if the Vault Hunters from the franchise starred in Super Smash Bros as characters, and then as amiibos?

If Nintendo wanted to reach out to audiences that, for some reason, haven’t fallen in love with the Super Smash Bros fighting games, this would be the way. Since most of them are shooters, it fits with the Smash modus operandi to make a Sheik clone out of Zero or turn Lilith into a Zelda clone.

Hearthstone Heroes

Pulling out this badass before an 8-person smash would definitely be intimdating.

Hearthstone. Based on Blizzard’s flagship franchise: Warcraft. The lore of this universe is extensive, to put it mildly, and Hearthstone drew from it the baddest and best heroes it had to offer. And they would fit right in with Super Smash’s roster of brawlers, sword fighters, and magic users.

That also means a huge collection of potential amiibos! Just imagine if Jaina Proudmoore, Thrall, and Gul’dan (ew) had teeny tiny statues that carried the account holder’s decks and stats with them!

Bayonetta

There's even a repeat sale opportunity for a long-haired version!

Smash has Zero Suit Samus, Lucina, Peach, and Zelda among many other lady killers in its roster. But with the release of Bayonetta 2 as a WiiU exclusive, introducing the femme fatale herself as a playable character is a no-brainer.

Introducing an amiibo of said gunslinging, claw-swiping, wise-cracking heroine would also be a no-brainer. Aside from the fact that it’d probably be the most attractive amiibo ever, it would be the envy of your friends. And possibly the disapproval of your lady friends.
