Resident Evil 7 – While Resident Evil 7 isn’t primarily a virtual reality game, it is the best experience for Playstation VR. Putting on the headset and creeping your way around the mansion is terrifying and you feel more immersed in the setting than in any other VR title. Coming face to face with Baker family is disturbing, the gameplay has been tweaked effectively from the standard version, and the impressive visuals carry over well. Also, since it is a full length game, it also offers more content that most games available for Sony’s system.
Thumper – Thumper is probably the most exhausting game available for PlayStation VR. At a base level, it is a single-track rhythm game but there are enemies to defeat and it gets really tough during the later levels. Although it can be played without, it is an assault on the senses in VR and is constantly thrilling. It may make you want to take a nap but it is a must play for Playstation VR owners.

I Expect you to Die
Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes – Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes is the best couch co-op game on PlayStation VR. One player dons the headset and transports themselves to a office when a bomb is on a desk in front of them. On that bomb, they will see up to six puzzles and a timer. The other players are given the instructions for how to diffuse the bombs and they have to relay the information to the diffuser. Playing it will, without a doubt, cause arguments but successfully diffusing a bomb is great fun with a group of friends.

Star Wars Battlefront: Rogue One X-Wing VR Mission – PlayStation VR needed an experience that was tied into a huge game franchise and Battlefront’s X-Wing Mission does that well. It is short and some of the gameplay is challenging to grasp but it is wonderful to be immersed in the Star Wars world. It is perfect for hardcore fans of the series.

Eagle Flight – Eagle Flight gives you more to do than most PlayStation VR titles. The structure is similar to other open-world Ubisoft titles and features collectibles, a variety of offline mission, and a competitive multiplayer. The game’s version of Paris, taken over by nature, looks fantastic and is fun to explore and the flying gameplay is easy to master.
Werewolves Within
Driveclub VR – The standard version of Driveclub launched in a disastrous state but has become an excellent racer and one of the PlayStation 4’s best exclusives. Thankfully, Driveclub VR brought everything that is goos about the game over to Sony’s virtual reality headset. There’s is a huge graphical downgrade and it is one of the biggest offenders when it comes to causing motion sickness but it shows how thrilling racing games can be in VR.

Psychonauts in the Rhombus of Ruin gives fans of the series the chance to jump back into the Psychonauts world in an even more immersive way. The story is interesting, if short, and the puzzles are engaging. It is of course, excellent for fans of the series but it is also worthwhile picking up if you have never played a Psychonauts game before.

There is a huge graphical downgrade and it is one of the biggest offenders when it comes to causing motion sickness but it shows how thrilling racing games can be in VR.
18. Battlezone
Battlezone was often used as a demo to show of the strengths of PlayStation VR. The tank combat is excellent and matches immediately immersed you in the colourful arenas. Upgrades make the combat more complex but virtual reality newbies could easily get to grips with it. Were it not for some frustrating moments of difficult gameplay, Battlezone would be one of the best multiplayer games available.
17. Werewolves Within
Werewolves Within adapts the party game 'Werewolf' and makes it a social experience for PlayStation VR. Among a group of seven players is a werewolf and everyone has to deceive and deduct who it is. The social aspect works excellently, connection permitting, and it is easy to jump in and get competitive with other PSVR owners. It is one of the best multiplayer games available for the system.

The game's version of Paris, taken over by nature, looks fantastic and is fun to explore and the flying gameplay is easy to master.
15. Farpoint
Farpoint is the newest game on this list and the first AAA exclusive first person shooter. While it would be quite a basic game without VR, it introduced the excellent Aim Controller that has the potential to make many more first-person games more immersive. Seeing giant space spiders jump at your face can be terrifying but exploring the planet in VR is fantastic.
14. RIGS: Mechanized Combat League
The online shooter was hugely enjoyable at launch and was an excellent showcase for the PlayStation VR. The gameplay was fast paced and thrilling but the experience was diminished by movement that could cause motion sickness and poor sales. Unfortunately, Guerrilla Cambridge was shuttered and we haven't heard anything about the game since.
13. Tethered
Tethered is a 'god-game' that you wouldn't expect to be well suited to virtual reality. However, through its innovative and strategic gameplay, it proves that traditional games can be great experiences on the system. Just because it looks like it doesn't show off the perceived strengths of virtual reality, it doesn't mean Tethered isn't a game worth playing.
12. EVE: Valkyrie
Flight Simulators are one the first game genres that come to mind when thinking about virtual reality and EVE: Valkyrie is one of the best. It looks more impressive on other virtual reality headsets but taking on the role of an elite fighter pilot is consistently thrilling. Controls are tight and large scale dogfights are great fun but the game is quite low on content considering it is a full-price title.
11. Until Dawn: Rush of Blood
While Rush of Blood isn't a Until Dawn game in any way other than title and some iconography, it is one of PSVR's best first person titles. The frantic shooter gameplay is fun and works excellently with the move controllers. It can be terrifying and the rollercoaster moments can be thrilling. It is also one of the best games to show off the system off to people that haven't never experienced VR before.
10. Super Stardust Ultra VR
Super Stardust Ultra, a game that has been on many PlayStation platforms, made its way to PlayStation VR. The VR version included a cockpit view that made it feel much like Battlezone but it didn't lose the excellent twin-stick combat that makes it so great. It may be light on content but it is a great way of experiencing the game you have probably played before.
9. Star Wars Battlefront: Rogue One X-Wing VR Mission
PlayStation VR needed an experience that was tied into a huge game franchise and Battlefront's X-Wing Mission does that well. It is short and some of the gameplay is challenging to grasp but it is wonderful to be immersed in the Star Wars world. It is perfect for hardcore fans of the series.
8. Job Simulator
Job Simulator is certainly one of the silliest and most simple games on PlayStation VR but it is a constant blast to play. Messing around in the future's view of current day workplaces can be hilarious, especially when surrounded by some friends or family. Chucking things at your robot boss or generally being bad at your job is a lot of fun and is great for VR veterans and newcomers alike.
7. Batman Arkham VR
The story and setting are two of the greatest strengths of Rocksteady's Arkham games. The detailed mysteries, played out by excellently voiced characters, are enthralling and the structure carries over excellently to Arkham VR. The tale is short and the whole experience acts more as a tech demo than a full game but moments such as coming face to face to Mark Hamill's Joker and putting on Batman's cowl are some of the best moments you can experience in PlayStation VR.
6. SuperHyperCube
SuperHyperCube isn't the flashiest PlayStation VR game but it is easily one of the best puzzle games on the system. You need to fit a collection of cubes through a stream of changing holes and, although it is as simple as it sounds, it is very hard to put down. It requires intelligence and forward thinking but it is never overly challenging.

4. I Expect You To Die
I Expect You To Die is funny, challenging, and the best puzzle game on PlayStation VR. The unique take on spies makes for heart pounding moments as you try to keep yourself from death. It is one of the most polished games on the system and shows how virtual reality can bring developers' unique ideas to life. I Expect You To Die is a must play.
3. Rez Infinite
The original is considered a classic and Rez Infinite only builds on that legacy. The beautiful visuals are hypnotic, the gameplay is wonderfully simple, and the combination of music and flashing lights make for a mesmerising experience. Rez Infinite improves an almost perfect game by recreating it in VR.
2. Thumper
Thumper is probably the most exhausting game available for PlayStation VR. At a base level, it is a single-track rhythm game but there are enemies to defeat and it gets really tough during the later levels. Although it can be played without, it is an assault on the senses in VR and is constantly thrilling. It may make you want to take a nap but it is a must play for Playstation VR owners.
