They say the clothes make the person, and in Overwatch, that couldn’t be more true. As one of the various unlockables for the large roster of characters, players have access to a ton of different costumes and color combinations. While many games offer other skins for your characters, the level of depth and detail in each one is incredible. These outfits span the gambit from terrifying, awe-inspiring, and absolutely adorable. When creating this list we have decided to make up a few rules, otherwise a few characters would just make up half the list itself. We’re looking at you, Reinhardt!
So for this list of Overwatch costumes, we will be omitting any of the special Origin Edition outfits and it will only be 1 per character. When deciding this list we are not only looking for outfits that are generally a cool idea but ones that represent who and what the character is. Sure, you could dress Junkrat up as a scarecrow, but it somehow doesn’t feel representative of the character’s personality and nature. Yet, it’s amazing how many of these costumes feel like perfect fits for this large roster, which made selecting only 10 quite difficult. Now let’s see which of these skins will be setting fashion trends for years to come!

25 Bastion - Woodbot
Starting in at number 25 is this gorgeous toybox ethic for the most beloved and definitely not rage inspiring character! Thanks to some beautiful woodwork and a great color choice, this certainly helps Bastion standout among all the other robots on Earth.
24) Lucio - Ribbit
Looking like something made out of a Daftpunk/Deadmau5 fever dream, this outfit fits Lucio perfectly. Channeling both his personality and entire build, this costume will get ther party going.
23) Zenyatta - Ifrit
While it does a great job representing Zenyatta as a hero, the great use of color contrast really makes this outfit pop. Especially on the various orbs floating around him.
22) Symmetra - Vishkar
Symmetra's Vishkar outfit has a whole Star Trek/Mass Effect vibe going and we love it. All it's missing is a phaser gun and some cheap looking aliens behind her!
21) Trobjorn - Blackbeard
Has any situation not been improved by the addition of pirates? Sure, it doesn't fit the actual abilities of Trobjorn, but it looks fantastic with his character model.
20) McCree - Mystery Man
Looking like he just jumped out of a 1950's noir mystery, it's good to see that McCree is embracing his inner vigilante. He also has a striking resemblance to Fallout 4's Silver Shroud... Coincidence? We think not!
19) Mercy - Sigrun
Vikings don't get enough love in modern gaming and this alternate skin for Mercy really feels like it embodies the character. The idea of a Valkyrie being Mercy makes complete sense as she is the only healer who can save their companions from death. We'll just omit the fact that she has a badass sword on her hip that is never used.
18) Reinhardt - Bloodhardt
Because Reinhardt couldn't get any more intimidating right? Looking like he just crawled out of the Doom or Diablo franchise, Reinhardt's impressive armor set makes him a truly intimidating foe. Now only if his shield was covered in flames...
17) Junkrat - Fool
Move over Joker, there's a new crazed clown criminal on the way. Out of all the other outfits for the roster, the "Fool" skin for Junkrat feels like a true embodiment of the character. It fits him perfectly and the detailing to his RIP-Tire is simply icing on the cake.
16) Reaper - Nevermore
Embracing the kind of brooding, Edgar Allan Poe, this stylish outfit is truly one of the coolest in gaming. Not only does Reaper's entire costume shift to a more gothic look, but his trademark shotguns even resemble the look of a raven. Just keep him away from chamber doors, word is he likes rapping against them.
15) D.VA - Junker
What would happen if we mixed Mad Max and StarCraft? Well, we would probably get something along the lines of this awesome alternate skin! So shiny, so chrome.
14) Genji - Bedouin
This Arabian inspired outfit really gives Genji a nice balance between cybernetics and actual clothing. Though it doesn't fit with his origins, the design is too cool to ignore.
13) Hanzo - Lone Wolf
While the outfit itself is awesome, the best part is it changes Hanzo's ultimate as well. Instead of firing twin dragons, we will actually fire duel energy wolves that let out a powerful howl. Now if only other character's outfits affected the design of their ultimates.
12) Mei - Yeti Hunter
This is the cutest alternate outfit in the game and thus earns a spot on this list. Sure, Mei may annoy us, but we can hardly stay mad at her for long.
11) Solider: 76 - Daredevil: 76
This is probably the oddest one on our list as the concept of a daredevil doesn't really fit Soldier: 76 in theory. Yet, we cannot help but chuckle every time we see Evel Knievel storm into battle.
10) Tracer - Ultraviolet
This energetic time jumper seems to be a perfect fit for a punk lover. Not only is her color pallet really well chosen, but the adjustments to her overall look really sells the idea. All she's missing is a Misfits CD.
9) Pharah - Raindancer
Much like Tracer's Ultra Violet alternate costume, the design choices for Raindancer are spot on. Not only is it aesthetically pleasing, but the subtle alterations to her weapons really helps her stand out in the heat of battle.
8) Roadhog - Mako
Out of every skin in the game, this has to be my personal favorite. Continuing with the pirate theme, the changes to Mako are really interesting. From the anchor grappling hook to the massive shark head, this is certainly a terrifying sight to behold.
7) Zarya - Arctic
Zayra didn't get that lucky when it comes to her epic skins, so it's nice to see one of her legendaries stand out. It fits her personality and character perfectly, with the only drawback being that everyone uses this skin.
6) Reaper- El Blanco
The second reaper outfit to appear on our list, this is certainly an interesting change for our brooding anti-hero. Sporting a more festive look, you can almost hear the mariachi music whenever he rounds the corner.
5) Widowmaker - Huntress
Another one of those outfits that matches the character's personality perfectly, Huntress really echoes everything that is Widowmaker. The coolest aspect has to be the alterations to her sniper rifle, which mimics the regal design of her skin.
4) Reinhardt - Lionhardt
Looking like he just stepped out of Azeroth, this is one of those skins that is clearly a throwback to World of Warcraft. Not that we're complaining, do you see how awesome those golden lions look!?
3) McCree - Gambler
This one is cool because it gives you an idea of what McCree would look like back in the 1920s. With various card based symbols dotting his clothing, this someone how makes us distrust McCree a little more.
2) Bastion - Steambot
The bird gets a monocle and Bastion gets a steampunk redesign. Need we say more?
1) D.VA - B.VA
To be honest, I really disliked this design the first time I saw it. Yet, this is a case of the alternate skin looking far better in motion. D.VA's insectoid change helps her surpass the stereotypical mecha design her normal skins warrant. Plus, this bee has one hell of a stinger.
