15 Facts You (Probably) Didn’t Know About MGSV: The Phantom Pain
Many were very anticipated to see the massive open-world Metal Gear The Phantom pan had to offer that they might have passed up a minor easter egg about Ground Zeroes. During the Prologue mission of the game, there’s a poster of Ground Zeroes on the cork board in the hospital. It’s a small Easter egg, but it is a cool reference to the game’s prequel.
As many might already have figured out, the mastermind director, Hideo Kojima can be rescued in Ground Zeroes. Well, it has been nine years since the events that took place in Ground Zeroes and it seems that Hideo Kojima managed to get himself captured again. In the Phantom Pain side op number 112, titled “Intel Agent Extraction” takes Boss on a mission to once again, save Hideo Kojima.
Taking on Quiet’s boss battle with a sniper rifle may not be the easiest way to defeat her. As abnormal as this may sound at first, a very easy method has been discovered. All you have to do is approach the boss battle at night, as it is easier to spot her. Use the binoculars to spot her and then call in supply drops at her location. The supply box will drop from above and hit Quiet on the head, losing a decent amount of health.
As a tactical espionage agent, you are going to get dirty. Thankfully, there are showers in Mother Base so you can still maintain a healthy hygiene. Well, if you don’t take advantage of the showers and use them, Big Boss will begin to smell very bad, to the point flies will begin to attract to his foul smell. When you return to the base in need of taking a shower, Ocelot will have a special cutscene for you in which he throws a bucket of water on you. If you happen to have Quiet as your buddy at the moment, she will intervene and stop him and take you to the showers to bathe with her.

Nice and Easy
Taking on Quiet's boss battle with a sniper rifle may not be the easiest way to defeat her. First, you will have to approach the boss battle at night, as it is easier to spot her. Use the binoculars to spot her and then call in supply drops at her location. The supply box will drop from above and hit Quiet on the head, causing her to lose a decent amount of health. She will relocate a couple of times so rinse and repeat this method and she should be defeated in no time.
A smelly snake

PT Reference
If you enter a tent located in the South-East part of Africa, there will be a radio broadcasting the news of a murder-suicide of a slaughtered family. This exact broadcast can also be heard in the twisted halls of PT. Creepy, right?
Kept ya waiting, huh?
In every Metal Gear game, Snake always says his famous line "Kept you waiting, huh?" and The Phantom Pain is no exception, although you might have to work for it this time around. During the early stages of the game specifically, when rescuing Kaz Miller, he will ask you to say "the magic words." When he asks, all you have to do is press Triangle/Y and Boss will say the iconic phrase.
How serious is it?
In the Phantom Pain, when you receive a major injury, Big Boss will need to heal himself to regain a sense of normalcy. What you may not actually know is when you board your helicopter, depending on how severe the injury you sustained out on the field is, it will reflect the type of medical attention he'll receive during the flight. If you sustain one major injury, Big Boss will be hooked up to a standard IV. If he takes two or more injuries, Boss will be hooked up to a blood transfusion. This does not affect the gameplay at all, but it's definitely a cool hidden secret.
Is that a devil?
If you begin to kill a lot of enemies, Big Boss's metal shrapnel will start to grow into a horn representing evil.
Dart to the face
As expected, if you are malicious enough to shoot Ocelot in the face with the dart gun, he will begin to spaz out and say random things. For example, he will say stuff like "2+2=5" or "I've had drug resistance training." If you keep tranquilizing Ocelot, he also says a secret dialogue phrase in Japanese. Interesting thing is, this exact dialogue can be found in every Metal Gear game that takes place chronologically after MGS V: The Phantom Pain.
Talk about realistic
Did you know, if you tranquilize an enemy and they fall into a puddle, they will drown to death?
Sleigh ride with Big Boss
Fans of the series love using the famous cardboard box to tactically take down enemies. Did you know you can sled down slopes while wearing the cardboard box in prone position? Pretty neat, right?
Horse droppings as a strategy?
D-Horse isn't only a source of transportation. If you leave its droppings in the middle of an enemy's path, it will cause them to swerve. This can be used as a tactical strategy if needed.
A whole new method of stealth
Once an enemy is down, that doesn't mean they are completely useless to Big Boss. You can throw downed enemies at other enemies to stun them.
Happy Birthday Big Boss
Big Boss gets a mini surprise birthday party at Mother Base on the birthdate you enter at the beginning of the game. He will receive a birthday cake and cigar as a present. How thoughtful?
Need better aim? This tape will get the job done
All who played the game know that Quiet is a pretty good shot. Well, if you aren't feeling accurate with Big Boss, all you have to do is play Quiet's humming tape. This will increase and steady your aim. Never be inaccurate again with this method.
