Meet the Voice Actors of Devil May Cry 5’s Voice Cast
Nero – Johnny Yong Bosch
Devil May Cry 5 proves once again that the choice to replace Dante with Nero as the series’ lead character was the right one. While fans may have become attached to the old Demon Hunter, the new protagonist introduces a much more likable character.
That has a lot to do with the man behind the voice, Johnny Yong Bosch, as the actor’s charm is on full display whenever Nero and the Devil Bringer are on screen. You may remember him from previous roles such as Johnathan Joestar in JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, Lelouch vi Britannia in Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion, and Adam Park in the Power Rangers franchise.
V – Brian Hanford
With his first appearance in the series, V doesn’t take long to make an impact as the third main playable character, bringing a dashing cane, mysterious book, and three dangerous demon familiars along with him. This new face is played by Brian Hanford, who is best known for his live-action work on Jean-Claude Van Johnson, Hacker, and Into the Stream.
Dante – Reuben Langdon
Widely agreed upon as the best voice of Dante that the Devil May Cry series has ever had, Reuben Langdon once again returns to be his voice in DMC5. While he may slightly take a back seat to Nero and Johnny Yong Bosch this time around, Dante is still one of the three main characters in the game.
In regards to Langdon, it’s interesting to note that, while he has a long career in video games, films, and tv, most of his work is as a stunt man, learning from greats like Jackie Chan and Sammo Hung while in Hong Kong.
Lady – Kate Davis (Kate Higgens)
Ever since she first appeared in Devil May Cry 3: Dante’s Awakening, Lady has been a fan favorite. Her fierce, rough, and tough attitude is a refreshing change of pace in comparison to most video game heroines, as she rivals Dante in badassness.
The experience of Kate Davis can be thanked for that badassness, as she brings a long list of voice acting roles to the character. Alongside reprising the role of Lady in DMC5, she is Sakura Haruno in Naruto, Sailor Mercury in Sailor Moon, and Tails in the Sonic the Hedgehog series.
Trish – Wendee Lee – Devil May Cry 5 voice actors
While Trish may not have a huge part to play in DMC5, she’s still one of the most important characters in the series. As such, the newest voice behind the role belongs to a veteran in the entertainment industry, Wendee Lee.
Having been around TV and anime alike since the 80s, Lee is responsible for the voice of Faye Valentine in Cowboy Bebop, Myōjin Yahiko in Rurouni Kenshin, and Takeru “T.K.” Takaishi in Digimon Adventure.
Nico – Faye Kingslee
Even the best demon hunter need support, so it’s a good thing that DMC5 introduces Nico, an expert craftswoman that helps Nero, Dante, and V along the way. She is played by Faye Kingslee, a young Chinese actress that has been Citra Talugmai in Far Cry 3, Anna Wolanska in Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus, and Faith in Mirror’s Edge: Catalyst.
Morrison – Joey Camen – Devil May Cry 5 voice actors
Before appearing in DMC5, the character of J.D. Morrison has had a recurring role in the brief Devil May Cry animated series as one of Dante’s most trusted confidant. While Rob Mungle did a solid job of voice the character, Joey Camen was in charge of bringing the character to life in the video game version.
Camen has been around for a while, first appearing on the Richard Prior show back in 1977 as the “White Guy Who Wants to Be Black.” Since then, he’s also portrayed Boomer in the Skylanders series, Leon in Mafia II, and Bosco in the Sam and Max series.
Griffon – Brad Venable
While Brad Venable might not be the lead in any of the anime or video games he has lent his voice to so far, he’s been an integral part of their foundations. Alongside playing Griffon in DMC5, he’s voiced Hunkules Hercules in Smite, Byro in Fairy Tail, and Shisami in the Dragon Ball series.
