When you think about tactical RPG games, Steven Universe is probably not the first franchise that comes to mind, but Attack the Light is a well done entry into the genre.
The first of a couple of GO games on this list, Deus Ex GO is a solid puzzle game set in the Deus Ex universe focusing on hacking and stealth.
Yeah Super Mario Run is a runner type game which usually only exists on mobile, but it’s a damn good one though with that Nintendo charm and shine that cannot be replicated.
Another of Ubisoft’s excellent GO games, Lara Croft GO is a winner of numerous of industry. Its turn based combat will have you carefully navigating Lara through another adventure, planning out a strategy as you go.
Infinity Blade was one of the earlier “modern” mobile games that showed off what the iOS platform was capable of visually. It’s also a damn good ARPG too with three games worth of content to pour through.
A more recent entry on this list, Afterpulse is a valiant attempt to bring tactical third person shooter combat to mobile with a focus on deep multiplayer PvP content.

Like Modern Combat for the mobile FPS, Real Racing is one of the original “modern” mobile racers that showed off the power of the iOS platform. Now on multiple platforms as of Real Racing 3, it remains one of more polished racers on the mobile platform. However, be wary of Real Racing 3’s freemium model. If that’s not your jam, try one of the earlier ones instead.
Survival games are all the rage these days, and Radiation Island admirably brings the genre to mobile platforms. Similar to ARK: Survival Evolved, you’ll need to hunt, craft and explore in order to fulfill your basic survival needs.

Boat racers are few and far between these days, so we appreciate the Riptide games for bringing a Hydro Thunder-like quality experience to iOS and Android. If water based racing games are your jam, you’ll be impressed with any of the Riptide games.
