Resident Evil 7 – Capcom is shaking things up by giving us a new Resident Evil game played out in first-person perspective. Players will have to deal with item and health management, just like in the older games. Thankfully, there will be guns.
Sniper Ghost Warrior 3 – Sniper Ghost Warrior 3 is one of the major first-person shooter games fans can look forward to in 2017. Taking place in Georgia, players must put an end to a civil war and prevent the start of another Cold War.
Bulletstorm: Full Clip Edition – As the title suggests, Bulletstorm: Full Clip Edition is a re-release of the classic shooter game. Players take control of Grayson Hunt, who must decide between getting vengeance or ensuring the safety of his comrades.
Battalion 1944 – For fans of classic shooter games, Battalion 1944 is as old-school as it gets. Taking place during World War 2, players will get to fight it out in real life locations without the added burden of grinding for levels and upgrades.
Farpoint – Farpoint is a brand new first-person shooter game announced for PSVR. We don’t know much about its story yet, but players will get to explore an alien planet. There are space anomalies involved.
Insurgency: Sandstorm – Published by Focus Home Interactive, Insurgency: Sandstorm puts players in Iraq, where they must survive the country’s insurrection period and progress to present day.
Overkill’s The Walking Dead – Overkill’s Walking Dead game is a co-op first-person shooter game where survivors must team up together to survive the hordes of undead that have overrun the world.
Prey – Prey looks really promising so far, and it’s definitely one to look out for if you’re a fan of FPS titles. Players will take the role of Morgan (male or female) and survive in a space station that’s been taken over by aliens and strange entities.
Robo Recall – Developed by Epic Games, Robo Recall is set in a world where the androids have staged an uprising. The player character is promoted to a Recaller who must put a stop to the riots and end the robots.
Sea of Thieves – Sea of Thieves is the perfect first-person shooter game for pirate lovers. By teaming up with a few friends, you’ll get to take charge of a large ship, sail the seas, and kill other pirates for their booty. By “booty” I mean treasure.
Strafe – STRAFE has been marketed as an incredibly bloody and gory roguelike FPS title. Players simply have to choose a weapon, and go through the game’s multitude of levels and try to survive.
Star Wars Battlefront – No official details have been unveiled just yet, but we already know EA is planning to release a Star Wars Battlefront sequel this year. Hopefully the company has learned from their past mistakes in 2015’s release and will actually include single-player campaign this time around.
Quake Champions – We haven’t seen a new entry in the series since Quake 4 back in 2005, but id Software is bringing the multiplayer shooter franchise back this year with the brand new Quake Champions.
LawBreakers – LawBreakers is the new multiplayer FPS title from Cliffy B, and it allows players to defy the laws of physics and gravity as they sail across a landscape while trying to shoot down other people.
Escape From Tarkov – Tarkov is plagued by incessant warfare, and players will have to choose a side in the conflict. Featuring RPG elements and MMO-like features, Escape From Tarkov tasks players with, well, escaping from Tarkov.
Destiny 2 – Much like Battlefront, we don’t know what the Destiny sequel will be called, but Bungie has stated that the next entry is set to be released this year. Hopefully Bungie also learns from the mistakes made in Destiny, and will actually deliver a more immersive game world with a proper and compelling story.
