15 PS4 Games That Are So Gorgeous, Because Yes, We’re That Shallow
Okay, yeah, there’s a lot of bad press surrounding No Man’s Sky. Still, though, you’ve gotta admit that it’s one of the best looking space games out there right now.
Demons, crazy weapons, and buckets of blood? Must be Doom. The old school shooter was lauded for its modern and retro sensibilities, but in addition to all of that, it’s also a pretty damn good looking game. The demons all look appropriately disgusting, the facilities perfectly destroyed, and the Doom Marine looks just badass on PS4. Okay, yeah, there’s a lot of bad press surrounding No Man’s Sky. Still, though, you’ve gotta admit that it’s one of the best looking space games out there right now.
The Ratchet and Clank franchise went to new graphical heights when it came to the PS3, and on the PS4, the franchise is elevated. The game based on the movie (based on the game) rocks it in the visual design and is a graphical powerhouse. If there’s any PS4 games that deserve to be on played on a Pro, this would be one of them.
The final adventure for Geralt of Rivia brings a new slate of colors thanks to the world of Toussaint. It’s one of those games where you wish that there was a photo mode so you could gawk at everything and take some great landscape pics.
It’s Uncharted, nothing more needs to be said. Naughty Dog went all out in every aspect for Nathan Drake’s final adventure, especially in the presentation. It’s easily the best looking and sounding game to come out of the PS4 thus far, packaged on top of an already stellar product.

Doom

Street Fighter V
There are a few PS4 games out now that try to go for the watercolor look, but none of them hit the mark quite like Street Fighter V does. The black streaks when pulling off an attack help add that extra "oomph," and the other colors on display from the characters and background are lovingly vibrant.
Far Cry Primal
Far Cry Primal was certainly a departure from typical Ubisoft fare, but it still proved to be pretty good looking and fun as heck. The prehistoric setting is a beautiful place to explore, full of people and animals that are perfectly rendered. Just don't get up close to the beats, because they'll chew your face off.
Dark Souls III
The medieval horror of Dark Souls has been what makes it stick out from other games (along with, y'know, the whole being appropriately hard thing). Irithyll, in particular, isn't a nice place to be in, but it's definitely easy on the eyes all around.
Rise of the Tomb Raider
Rise of the Tomb Raider was already impressive-looking on the PC and Xbox One, and the PS4 version follows suit. Between this and Uncharted 4, there's no better place for beautiful PS4 games about treasure hunting.
Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens
Lego games are cute and charming, and Force Awakens doesn't slouch in that aspect. Along with bringing the world of the hit film perfectly to life, the animation is top notch and filled with cute little details for each character, such as mouse droids moving around the Starkiller base.
Battlefield 1
The Frostbite engine DICE uses for their Battlefield games is home to some of the best visuals in gaming around, and Battlefield 1 doesn't look to disappoint on that front. It doesn't come till next week, but as the beta and trailers have shown, it's gonna be a great-looking title.
Persona 5
The cel-shaded art style of the Persona games have always been a part of their appeal, and the new title continues that much welcome trend. It's definitely a distinguished style, and the crisp animated cutscenes help give it that edge.
Destiny: Rise of Iron
Destiny's space opera vibe has always lent it a certain charm, and it returns with Rise of Iron. The SIVA virus is evil, sure, but it and the new winter setting make for a nice visual blend for the Fallen. And that's before you get to Felwinter Peak and pick up your flaming axe.
Overwatch
The heroic characters of Overwatch all look distinct and visually appealing from each other. You can tell what they're about just by one look at them, and their personalities always come across, whether they're just hanging around in the base before a match starts, or during their highlight intros.
Final Fantasy XV
The game's been in development for a decade, so of course it's going to look amazing. Square Enix doesn't skimp on the visuals, and if you thought that FFXIII looked like a movie, FFXV wants to push that game out of your mind so it can take its place.
