Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA Future Tone may not be the first game that jumps out at you when shopping on the PSN store or in your local game shop for your PS4. But, if you’re a trophy hunter in need of some easy baubles for your collection, you shouldn’t pass this one up.
First, let’s address the elephant in the room, there’s no Platinum trophy on offer here. However, there are plenty of easy trophies to boost your total count and your rank. There are eight prizes to collect in the base game, and six in each of the DLCs for a total of 20, though you’ll probably just go for the base game as that’s the much cheaper option.
You basically just have to play the game, completing a song, getting a combo of 39, earning some VP (the game’s currency), and playing for a total of 39 minutes and 39 seconds. Yeah, nothing really challenging here as long as you can keep up with the rhythm. You can knock this all out in one sitdown before moving on to the next PS4 title.
Hitman
For those who didn’t want to get the new Hitman game one episode at a time, a physical version of the complete first season was released for the PS4 at the end of January 2017. Now you could play through the whole thing and not be left in suspense as you waited for the next location to be revealed.
Since Hitman is now available in one package, you have the opportunity to appreciate the extensive list of trophies, 66 in total. Unfortunately, that large count doesn’t include a Platinum, but it does have plenty of gold and silver. They also aren’t too difficult to collect, requiring between 15 and 24 hours to complete in total. So 3-4 days of play time and you’re done.
Of course, a guide will help out quite a bit, and there’s no shame if you need a bit of help. Watch that trophy count rise as you pull off headshots and other tricky assassinations as the iconic Agent 47.
Resident Evil 7: Biohazard
When you think Resident Evil 7, the first thought that runs through your mind probably isn’t “that’s going to be my next PS4 Platinum trophy.” Chances are that it’s more along the lines of “dammit that is terrifying,” and we don’t blame you. However, if you can work up the courage, Resident Evil 7 actually has a pretty manageable trophy list making it a relatively easy Platinum to obtain. Not to mention the other 42 trophies it brings along for the ride. And the best part? You don’t need to scare yourself senseless by playing with the PSVR (there are no trophies tied to the device).
The average run-time of Resident Evil 7 is 8-12 hours for first timers, a time that is cut drastically once you know where everything is. You will need to complete the game 2-3 times to nab all the shiny rewards, but with some handy guides and a grasp on the game this should take around 24 hours. Madhouse mode will undoubtedly be the biggest challenge, and eat up the largest chuck of that run-time since patience is truly a virtue when dealing with beefed up monstrosities. But stick through it and you’ll gain an early 2017 Platinum on your PS4 that you can be proud of.
