Whether or not you’re someone who was compelled by the narrative in the follow-up to 2013’s The Last Of Us, you can’t deny that this PS4 exclusive truly pushed the graphical power of the system in its final year before the launch of the PS5.

With stunning environments, photo-realistic characters, impressive animations, and a stellar voice cast, The Last of Us Part II is a technical powerhouse of a video game.

It’s gripping and emotional, and while it didn’t quite reach the heights of its predecessor, it’s a Sony exclusive that excels in what it set out to do.

If you’ve yet to play it, now is the time my friend. $30 is a steal! Grab it here.

Ghost of Tsushima – $59.99 – $40.19

Ticking off Ghost of Tsushima’s gorgeous and fully-realized map of the island of Tsushima was one of my personal favorite things from gaming this year. Sucker Punch Productions truly knocked it out of the park with this brand-new IP.

Ghost of Tsushima not only tells a compelling story about honor and family, but the combat is so refined and satisfying. The skill tree allows you to eventually become a super-powered samurai warrior, and engaging in one-on-one duels never gets old.

Final Fantasy VII Remake – $59.99 – $39.59

Fans were skeptical at first about Square Enix remaking one of the most iconic JRPG’s of all time, but it actually turned out to be pretty fantastic.

Cloud, Aerith, Tifa, Barrett, and co. look incredible in this remake and the switch to action-based combat was surprisingly fluid and enjoyable, giving players a tasty mix of Kingdom Hearts and modern Final Fantasy.

It’s a standout title from this year and was even picked as one of the game of the year nominees by the TGA’s.

While we don’t know when the next chapter is coming, it’s still worth playing this now to fully experience the iconic JRPG in a new light.

Persona 5 Royale – $59.99 – $29.99

persona 5 royal

Persona 5 is a super stylish and slick JRPG from Atlus that just oozes personality. It’s a half dungeon-crawler, half life-sim game that has you dating your fellow classmates while also diving into a deep turn-based combat system.

The characters are all great, there’s tons of content here, and Persona 5 Royal only adds to the base game. It introduces a new school semester, a new party member, and you can expect to spend at least 100 hours to get through it all.

If you’re looking for something to really sink your teeth into for the upcoming holiday season, Persona 5 Royale is the way to go.

doom eternal

Do you want to rip and tear through some monsters while listening to an epic rock metal soundtrack? Well, that’s what Doom Eternal is and it’s freaking awesome.

Here’s a little taste of our glowing review, courtesy of Tom Hopkins, our deputy guides editor:

Doom Eternal is far more than gore, double jumps, and brutal executions. It’s an impeccably designed game that perfectly balances every single aspect of its action to create one of the most challenging, exhausting, and consistently fun shooters in years.

Grab Doom Eternal here for PS4.
