PSN Name Changes

It has been way too long and I’m really getting sick and tired of having to explain to other Fortnite players why my PSN user name is “Emoteenboy69.” It’s honestly very, very embarrassing and guess what? I’ve had that user name ever since I picked up a PS3 back in 2010 and I still can’t get rid of it.

Okay, I lied. I don’t play Fortnite and that is not my user name, but let me tell you, there are tons of other players out there who are just dying to get those promised PSN name changes.

Last year, Sony told us that we would be able to change our terrible User ID’s once the new year came about, and I just checked the month, and it’s almost April. “Early 2019” is basically over already and that guy on my friend’s list is still titled as “Emoteenboy69.”

Since PlayStation will soon be starting their own version of a Nintendo Direct called State of Play, this would be one of the best announcements to make during the first episode that will be airing this coming Monday. Just end the entire livestream with Nintendo’s signature “Just one more thing” line and drop the reveal that names can now be changed.

Info on The Last of Us Part 2

The continuation of Ellie and Joel’s journey with The Last of Us Part 2 has been much-awaited by fans ever since it became canon during the PlayStation Experience event back in December of 2016.

Since that day, we’ve seen new trailers and received a few more details on what to expect with this dark and harrowing sequel, but the big question still hangs in the air: when will we actually be able to play The Last of Us Part 2?

With Sony’s State of Play taking place this upcoming Monday, they plan to reveal new information on PS4 and PlayStation VR titles, so we predict (hope) that TLoU2 makes an appearance in some way, shape, or form. Even getting a short teaser trailer would suffice, as fans are starving for more details, including myself.

Dreams Early Access Release Date

No, we did not use the wrong image for this excerpt on Media Molecule’s Dreams. Dreams literally lets the user create whatever they want. Players have recreated games like P.T. and television shows like Spongebob, as you can see above.
Dreams lets you create worlds, music, video games within video games, art, and much much more with its amazing creation tools. The developers of Little Big Planet have a lot to live up to if they want Dreams to be the game that they promised it to be.
Media Molecule has recently announced that Dreams Early Access will be launching sometime this spring. Since spring is basically here already, revealing the actual release date during State of Play will be highly likely.
It’s time to finally bring the game out to the masses and see what the heck people will be able to create once they have access to the huge toolset that the developers are giving to players. I’m not much of a “creator” but I’m interested to see what hardcore fans of the game will be able to conjure up.

PlayStation Now Gets An Upgrade

For about $120 a year, Microsoft gives subscribers access to the biggest newly released triple-A games by way of Xbox Game Pass. Similar to Sony’s PlayStation Now, accept Game Pass isn’t streaming based but lets players download these titles and play them as long as they are subscribed.

PS Now, for $100 a year, allows players to stream PS2, PS3, and PS4 games that are available on the catalog, with the list being updated every several weeks or so. Just last year, Sony even added the feature to allow people to download PS4 and PS2 games directly to your system, so you can play them without any latency issues.

PS Now may be slightly cheaper than Xbox Game Pass, but it’s definitely not as viable as Game Pass. The latency and slowdown issues that come with streaming are very present if you do not have an amazing internet connection on PS4 and the selection of games isn’t that great.

PS Now is a great product for someone that’s new to PlayStation, but not for someone looking to play the hottest games out right now. If PlayStation wants to compete with Microsoft and even Google’s upcoming streaming platform, Stadia, then some changes need to be made concerning PS Now.

Having access to more recent PS4 exclusives, for example, would be a great place to start for the streaming service. Having the announcement of God of War or even Spider-Man coming to PS Now during State of Play next week would be a massive announcement, showing that Sony isn’t gonna sit aside and let Xbox take the spotlight.

Death Stranding Trailer

To be honest with you all, while I am a huge fan of Hideo Kojima and I’m also very excited to see what happens with Death Stranding, but let me say that I have no idea what’s going on whenever a new trailer or detail is shown. We still really don’t know what the heck this game is or when it’s coming out, but apparently, it could even be as soon as this year. Imagine if Sony announced an actual release date for Death Stranding during the State of Play?

We doubt that this will actually be happening, but a new trailer wouldn’t hurt. We really just want to see some more of the gameplay and get a deep dive as to what this game actually is.

We’re not entirely sure how big this State of Play presentation is going to be or how long it’s going to be, but if it’s anything like the main Nintendo Directs, anything can happen.

The State of Play broadcast will start live streaming on Mar 25 at 2:00 PM PDT, 5:00 PM EST, 9:00 PM GMT, and 10:00 PM CET. What do you guys think will get announced during the presentation? Let us know down in the comments below!
