The Bigger Game – No Man’s Sky
PS Plus Free Games Predictions
It’s almost time for Sony to announce what free games will be available for PS Plus for the upcoming month of May 2020. So we have some PS Plus free games predictions in the meantime.
For the current month of April we have Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End and DiRT Rally 2.0 on being offered for free. And due to the COVID-19 pandemic this month Sony is also offering Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection for Journey for free as well as part of its Play at Home Campaign. So you could get the entire Uncharted series for free from this month alone!
Usually one larger game headlines the list, and we suspect No Man’s Sky would be an appropriate pick for May.
It’s been almost four years since it’s original release date and developer Hello Games has been releasing free updates since that point with the most recent being the Exo Mech 2.4 update earlier this month. Offering it for free would be a great way to get the playerbase up, with the last big jump in players happening in mid-2019.
Plus, No Man’s Sky now has VR support thanks to the Beyond Update back in August 2019. There was a long stint there where it looked like Sony was done with offering VR titles on PS Plus. But more recently it has started including some again, like Firewall Zero Hour a couple months ago in February.
Offering games with VR support is like a two birds one stone situation for Sony, as they get to please owners of both the base console and the VR system at the same time.
The Smaller Game – Knack 2
PS Plus Free Games Predictions
After a larger more AAA styled game, usually a smaller one makes the list as well, and Knack 2 is looking like an extremely likely pick for next month.
Besides the fact that the original Knack has already been offered on PS Plus back in February 2018, this month Knack 2 is being offered for free on the Play at Home Campaign for players in Germany and China instead of the Uncharted: The Nathan Drake collection bundle.
It seems like a natural next step to then offer that game for free to the remainder of the world on PS Plus the following month.
Make sure to check back in the next week or so for Sony’s offical reveal of two PS Plus games for May 2020 to see if any of our predictions are correct.
