Here Are the Voices Behind Destiny: The Taken King’s Cast of Characters

Voices, voices, voices...

Lance Reddick

Recommended Videos

Most people probably know Lance Reddick as Agent Broyles from Fringe or Cedric Daniels in The Wire. If you go that far back, you may think, “Hey, that’s Johnny Basil from Oz!” The John Wick star has also been in American Horror Story: Coven and next year, he’ll be in Remedy’s Quantum Break. He returns to The Taken King as Commander Zavala, the Titan Vanguard.

Morla Gorrondona

After making her debut in Destiny as Eris Morn in the Dark Below expansion, Morla Gorrandora returns for The Taken King. Before this, she was Lt. Kwon in Halo: Spartan Strike, the voice of the Computer in Sev Zero and Eleanor in the True Love short. Call of Duty fans will get to hear her as Battery in the upcoming Black Ops 3.

Gina Torres

Gina Effin’ Torres is probably best known as Zoe from Firefly or more recently Jessica Pearson in USA’s Suits and Bella Crawford in Hannibal. Cartoon fans will know her best as Vixen in Justice League Unlimited, Superwoman in Justice League: Crisis on Two Earths, and Wonder Woman in DC Universe Online. For Destiny, she voices Warlock Vanguard Ikora Rey.

Kirsten Potter

Best known by anime fans as Natsuhi in Naruto and Ran’Tao in Bleach, Kirsten Potter will return in The Taken King as Awoken Queen Mara Sov. Before this, her gaming credits include Judge Lawton in State of Decay, Colonel Moore in Fallout: New Vegas, and General Tilera in Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning.

Nathan Fillion

Nathan Fillion practically needs no introduction. Older fans know him as Richard Castle on the titular ABC show, others still call him Mal from his stint on Firefly. Animated fans will know him best as the guy behind Hal Jordan in multiple DC animated films, but video game fans may remember him best as Edward Buck in Halo 3: ODST and the upcoming Halo 5: Guardians. In Destiny, he’s the lovable Hunter Vanguard Cayde-6.

Nolan North

Once the king of Video Game Voice Acting Land, Nolan North is best known for Nathan Drake in Naughty Dog’s Uncharted franchise and Desmond Miles in the Assassin’s Creed games. Superhero fans will remember him as the Penguin in the Batman Arkham games (no, seriously) and Superman and Superboy in Young Justice. But alas, he was usurped from his throne by the traitor Troy Baker. Now, Nolan North is trying to return to his throne by stealing other people’s roles. For The Taken King, he’s gone and jacked Dinklebot’s game. What do we call him now, Northtron? Nolandroid?

Not Liam Neeson

Seriously Bungie, you had a whole week, you mean to tell me you couldn’t grab the Bad Cop and have him record a few lines?! Why even bother releasing Taken King at this point, honestly? Shut it down, shut it all down.

Justin Carter

Sometimes a writer, always a dork. When he isn't staring in front of a screen for hours, he's probably reading comics or eating Hot Pockets. So many of them.
