Figaro Castle (Final Fantasy VI)

Recommended Videos

Figaro Castle debuted in Final Fantasy VI as a home to character Edgar Roni Figaro and his people located in the middle of the desert. The area is known widely for being a technologically advanced nation as well as being the most dominant force in the northern continent. Appearance-wise, Figaro Castle takes its inspiration from traditional medieval structures but also contains unique features like turbines that run through the turrets.

Judging by its architecture and location, the castle contains enough space and dynamics to become a stage in Dissidia NT. The fights would take place on the outer side of the castle wherein players would weave through the structures and the sand. As for the stage transformation, the castle would slowly begin to rumble and descend with a sandstorm enveloping the area. The turbines would also begin to spin, giving some new life to Figaro Castle.

Balamb Garden (Final Fantasy VIII)

Balamb Garden is a special school in Final Fantasy VIII where students attend with the hopes of becoming SeeDs. Prominent figures like Squall Leonhart, Seifer Almasy, Zell Dincht, and Selphie Tilmitt live and train at the Garden while Quistis Trepe works as an instructor. Since the location acts as a school, there are many facilities within the campus and strict rules for both the faculty and students. Balamb Garden also acts as a method of transportation with the cast using it as a “vehicle” to traverse the map later in the game.

As a stage in Dissidia NT, fights could span across both the outer and inner parts of the campus. Fights would start in the lobby ring of the Garden while you have the choice to take the action outside. Moreover, selected areas like the Quad and Training Center could also be a part of the Dissidia NT stage. During the stage transformation, Balamb Garden would begin to take flight and turn into a mobile vehicle. During this time, the stage background outside the building could change and possibly show off some other prominent locations from Final Fantasy VIII.

Macalania Woods (Final Fantasy X)

Dissidia NT

Macalania Woods is a mystifying, yet bewildering magical forest in Final Fantasy X that is bathed in darkness with glittering plants illuminating the maze-like path. The woods serve as a junction path to key locations like the Thunder Plains, Bevelle, Lake Macalania, and the Calm Lands. The summoner Yuna also holds some fond memories of the forest as she and Tidus share their iconic kissing scene in one of the springs here.

Such a breathtaking and classic location in the Final Fantasy universe deserves a spot as a map in Dissidia NT. Macalania Woods would have many twisting wooden platforms that would lead to the top of the large trees. Players could use this to gain an aerial advantage against their foes or as a means to escape from harm. During the stage transformation, the Dissidia NT map would be filled with pyreflies floating around the map along with the plants become more vibrant.

Altissia (Final Fantasy XV)

Dissidia NT

The beautiful city of Altissia is the capital of Accordo in Final Fantasy XV and is renowned for being surrounded by water – especially its magnificent waterfalls and canals. It is a very lively city filled with both residents and tourists along with establishments like cafes, parks, and ship-bourne marketplaces. Due to the scale of the city, people must make use of gondolas to move around the area. Noctis and his crew visit Altissia to reunite with Lunafreya who holds a ritual of communication to summon Leviathan.

An elegant water-based stage would be a thrilling sight to behold in Dissidia NT. Characters would fight in the city streets filled with fully destructible objects or duke it out near the waterfalls. The Dissidia NT map would become hectic during the stage transformation as the skies would darken with the skies growing darker and building parts beginning to crumble. In the background, Leviathan could be seen rising from the inaccessible shallow parts of the water and brewing up a deadly storm.

Gold Saucer (Final Fantasy VII)

Debuting in Final Fantasy VII, the Gold Saucer is a towering amusement park that was built over the ruins of Old Corel. It is a world famous tourist attraction where people go to play games and earn points in exchange for prizes. Some of the attractions include Chocobo races, plays, gondola rides, and even a horror-themed hotel. Just like any other amusement park, you’ll have to pay a certain entrance fee for either a one-time or lifetime pass. Cloud and company visit the Gold Saucer to unwind but end up getting caught in a major misunderstanding that lands them in prison.

This map could make for a whimsical stage in Dissidia NT as characters would fight on the outer part of the map. There, players could ascend the golden mushroom-like buildings when fighting. The buildings could have windows that show some of the attractions inside like an ongoing fight at the arena, or the arcade area. During the Dissidia NT stage transformation, the Gold Saucer will really come to life as there could be even more lights, fireworks in the sky, and a live Chocobo race circling around the stage.
