FIFA 22 Early Access kicks off later today, and that means players can finally start working on their FUT (FIFA Ultimate Team). Whether this is your first year playing the ever-popular game mode, or you’re a seasoned veteran, we’ve got a handful of handy tips to make sure you get the most out of FIFA 22’s limited 10-hour early access period on EA Play. After all, this is your best chance to get a head-start in the game mode, and you don’t want to waste those precious hours you’ve got.
Completely Quit Out of the Game Whenever You’re Not Playing
FIFA 22 Early Access Tips
First off, make sure that whenever you’re done playing FIFA 22 Early Access that you’re completely exiting the game. Don’t take any chances putting the game into Quick Resume on Xbox, or just leaving the game idle in menus when you need to eat or take a quick phone call.
Any time you do this, you’ll be whittling away that 10-hour time limit you’ve got in Early Access. Whenever you load the game up, you want to make sure you’re at least doing something. Partner calls? Quit the game. Dinner time? Quit the game. Need a power nap because it’s 3am and you can’t stop the grind? Quit the game!
It may sound stupid to do this, even when you’re only gone for five minutes, but all of those small breaks and idling time will add up and eat into the precious, limited time you’ve got to give your Ultimate Team a nice head start.
Focus on Playing Games to Maximize Your Time
FIFA 22 Early Access Tips
Just because you’re quitting the game, doesn’t mean that you’re making the most of your limited FIFA 22 early access time period.
Focus just on playing games, be it Division Rivals, Squad Battles or the Early Access Live FUT Friendly Mode (more on that shortly).
Playing games is one of the only things you can’t do in the Companion app. The Web App is due to go live today, Wednesday, Sept. 22 at 10am PT/ 1pm ET/ 6pm BST, while the Mobile App will go live at the same time on the following day, Thursday, Sept. 23.
Playing games means you’ll not only be improving your chances of getting better weekly rewards come the reset early next week, but you’ll also be earning coins and getting yourself used to the new meta and mechanics in the gameplay.
Play the Early Access Live FUT Friendly Mode to Get Free Packs
FIFA 22 Early Access Tips
Sure, sure, playing Division Rivals and Squad Battles will help you earn packs at the weekly reset next week, but there will also be a limited-time Early Access FUT Friendly Mode that players can dive into during FIFA 22 early access.
While the specifics of this mode haven’t yet been shared, what we do know is you’ll be competing against other players for pack rewards.
Given packs are the best way to improve your Ultimate Team, and also earn yourself some fodder for SBCs, we highly recommend making the most of this mode as soon as you can.
Don’t Worry About SBCs or Opening Packs, Use the Companion App Instead
FIFA 22 Early Access Tips
You may have seen in the FIFA 22 Ultimate Team Launch Update Patch Notes that there will be a Ones to Watch (OTW) Player Squad Building Challenge (SBC) available exclusively during the Early Access period.
This OTW Player will likely be one of the best cards you can get this early on in the game, but that doesn’t mean you should spend hours in your FIFA 22 Early Access working on the SBC. You’ll be able to work on that from the app when it launches. We imagine you’ll need to log-in to FIFA 22 Early Access first before it becomes available on the app, but then you’ll be able to complete it from your phone without burning through your 10 hours.
Even if you’re unable to complete the OTW Player SBC on the app, don’t let the other easy SBCs and their promise of easy packs distract you from playing games. Similarly, don’t go spending chunks of time opening countless packs in FIFA 22 Early Access just because you want to learn the tells of the new pack opening animations.
There’ll be plenty of time for that in a few weeks’ time, and plenty of videos on YouTube breaking this down so you don’t have to waste your 10 hours doing so yourself.
Buy Any FIFA Points You Want, Just Don’t Spend Them
FIFA 22 Early Access Tips
While we’ve basically repeatedly told you to just focus on playing games in the early access period, what we would say is feel free to buy any FIFA Points you want from in-game. That’s because this is one of the other few things you cannot do from the FUT companion app on either the web or mobile versions.
The process only takes a few minutes to buy the FIFA Points and then they’ll be on your account for good. But remember, don’t go spending your FIFA Points in-game, save that for the app to maximize those 10 hours of FIFA 22 early access.
