All Old Games Coming to Modern Platforms in June 2018
June 7 sees the return of two old games on the Switch. The Neo Geo motorcycle racing game Riding Hero will be speeding to the system as part of the ACA Neo Geo line. Flashback 25th Anniversary will also be coming to the Switch on that day, and is exclusive to the system. Flashback is a classic cinematic platformer released for the Amiga in 1992. It’s one of those games that has been released on just about every console under the sun, eventually making its way to the SNES, Sega CD, 3DO, CD-i, Atari Jaguar, and even the FM Towns (if you’ve heard of that obscure console). It eventually received a 3D remake for the PS3 and Xbox 360, but this 25th Anniversary edition of Flashback is based on the SNES version.
Lumines Remastered will be coming to the Switch on June 26. It is a puzzle game produced by Tetsuya Mizuguchi, the creator of Rez. Lumines is a block-dropping game similar to Tetris, so it’ll be a perfect fit for the Switch’s handheld mode.
Lastly, releasing on June 29, we have Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy. The N. Sane Trilogy collects the first three Crash Bandicoot games from the original PlayStation into a single collection, sporting HD visuals and a bunch of extra features. The Switch port is being handled by Toys for Bob, who are also developing the Spyro Reignited Trilogy for PS4 and Xbox One.
PS4/PS Vita

Along with all other systems, the PS4 will also be getting the ACA Neo Geo version of Riding Hero on June 7, as well as Lumines Remastered on June 26. The Lumines series is no stranger to Sony’s platforms; in fact, the first Lumines (the game that this remaster is based on) originally released on PS2 and PSP.
The last old game released on June 26 for PS4 is Far Cry 3: Classic Edition. Owners of the Far Cry 5 season pass have been able to get their hands on this one already, but for everyone else, the game will be made available on the PlayStation Store on June 26. Far Cry 3 was quite a turning point for the series, being the first and only Far Cry game to score a 90 or above on Metacritic. If you’re enjoying Far Cry 5, but maybe think it could use more of a tropical aesthetic, then you should consider checking out Far Cry 3: Classic Edition.
The PS Vita is also receiving some classic game love. Specifically, in the form of Muv-Luv and its sequel Muv-Luv Alternative, which will be coming to the system on June 8. What happens when a Japanese boy wakes up to find the heiress to a wealthy family sleeping in his bed? You’ll have to play Muv-Luv to find out. This visual novel was released all the way back in 2003 in Japan, and eventually released in English on PC in 2015, following a hugely successful Kickstarter campaign that raised over $1 million.
Xbox One

The first old game to be hitting the Xbox One is the ACA Neo Geo version of Riding Hero on June 7.
Xbox One owners who are also Rockstar fans are in for a treat this month, as three Rockstar games will be making their way to the Xbox One’s backward compatibility program: Rockstar Games Presents Table Tennis, Midnight Club: Los Angeles, and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. The former two are Xbox 360 games, but the latter is somewhat of a special case. The game released on the original Xbox in 2005, and later received a HD port for Xbox 360 in 2014. If you pop either disc into your Xbox One, the console will download the HD Xbox 360 version for you to play. So if you’ve got your OG Xbox disc lying around, and have never tried out the HD version, you’re in for an extra special treat.
The Xbox One will also be getting Lumines Remastered and Far Cry 3: Classic Edition on June 26. Like with the PS4, Far Cry 5 season pass owners will already have access to Far Cry 3: Classic Edition, but everyone else will have to wait until June 26 to purchase the game.
Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy will be releasing on Xbox One on June 29. Playing on an Xbox One X will showcase the marsupial in both 4K and HDR.
PC
All Old Games Coming to Modern Platforms in June 2018
There are only three old games that we currently know about that are coming to the PC in June 2018. The first two are the multiplatform games Riding Hero and Lumines Remastered, releasing on June 7 and June 26, respectively. If you’re itching to get your puzzle game fix, and just can’t wait until June 26, the original Lumines is already available to download on Steam.
As with the Switch and Xbox One, the PC will also be getting its own version of Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy, releasing on the same day as the console versions, June 29. The PC port is being handled by Iron Galaxy, who has worked on a number of ports in the past, such as Borderlands: The Handsome Collection for PS4 and Xbox One, as well as the Switch version of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. This release will mark Crash’s first ever appearance on the PC. The PS4 release of the N. Sane Trilogy earned a number of accolades for how good it was as a remake/remaster. Hopefully, Iron Galaxy will be able to retain the same level of quality with the PC port.
