The jort-wearing bandicoot is back on our screens with an all-new adventure for the first time in… well… a long, long time. Following the success of the Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy which saw the first three main games in the series remade from the ground-up for the PS4 and Xbox One, publisher Activision saw fit to get the Bandicoot back on the road. Thus, Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time came to be.
Following-up from the events of Crash Bandicoot: Warped, Neo Cortex, Dr. N. Tropy and Uka Uka have been working together on a faraway planet for decades trying to figure out how to tear apart the fabric of space-time so they can return to the past.
In typical Crash Bandicoot fashion, players will make their way through short platforming levels as they try and put a stop of Cortex’s evil plans.
If you’ve been looking for something lighthearted and fun to play amidst all the violent shooters and adventures coming this Fall, there are few other games that look set to fit the bill quite like Crash Bandicoot 4.
Star Wars: Squadrons – Oct. 2

If you’ve ever dreamed of flying through space at break-neck speed in an X-Wing, I have excellent news for you. Star Wars: Squadrons is coming to Xbox One, PS4 and PC next month and will allow you to do exactly that.
No, no, you’re not just limited to the X-Wing, either. Depending on whether you’re on the side of the New Republic or the Imperial forces, players will have access to all manner of starfighters, each with their own pros and cons.
Then it’s straight into 5vs5 dogfights as you battle to be the last team standing. With all of the iconic Star Wars visual and audio effects thrown in, too, Star Wars: Squadrons feels like a truly authentic experience, and one we can’t wait to repeatedly barrel-roll in.
Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit – Oct. 16
Fall 2020 Games to Look Forward To
You can always rely on Nintendo to come up with new, innovative ways to bring your favorite video game series to life. That’s exactly what they’ve done with Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit, coming to the Nintendo Switch next month.
Rather than simply racing around the typical tracks we’ve come to know and love from the series, Home Circuit is almost a toys-to-life experience. Packed in with the game are various checkpoint gates and a little remote-control car.
Players will then set up a track around their home, and then race around it with the remote-control car, with the use of magic (read: technology) bringing other AI racers and obstacles into the fray on your Nintendo Switch screen. All the while the little remote-control car darts around your living room.
While we’re not quite sure what the longevity is going to be like in comparison to a typical Mario Kart experience, we’re all about innovation in video games here. You’ll be able to check out the high-octane action for yourself on Oct. 16.
Watch Dogs: Legion – Oct. 29

Watch Dogs: Legion is set to continue with the same premise that has become a hallmark of the series, presenting an off-the-wall vision of a city ruined by unemployment, organized crime, and an over-reliance on automation.
This time, it’s London, which means that if you’ve been wondering what the future holds for post-Brexit UK, here’s a perfect case study!
Ok, that was a bit cynical. But in all seriousness, Legion features some interesting design choices that we’re super excited to try.
To up the ante with Watch Dogs: Legion, players can recruit any NPC they see walking around the world, with each one having its own unique back story, traits, and stats. The process has you completing a quick mission for them before they join your ranks. You can then control these characters to help you complete missions.
Want to play as the aspiring company man who’s become tired of kissing ass and is ready to take matters into his own hands? Go make him an offer. Or maybe you just want to tear up the streets as an old granny-gone-rogue on her mobility scooter? It’s all possible!
On top of all that, there’s a huge freedom of choice in how players go about tackling gameplay thanks to hacking mechanics. You can manipulate traffic lights, locked doors, terminals, cranes, trains, buses, ATM machines… pretty much anything electrical in the game, you can hack.
Pikmin 3 Deluxe – Oct. 30

While this entry may not be quite as exciting as others on the list, I had to include it for all those fellow Pikmin fans out there. Not to mention, Pikmin 3 Deluxe is one of the few games releasing on the Switch this fall.
Pikmin 3 originally released on the Wii U to critical acclaim, but equally didn’t set the world on fire, largely due to how tiny the Wii U install base was. As such, seeing the game come to the Nintendo Switch complete with two-player co-op, new adventures and some expected QoL improvements is truly exciting stuff.
It may not be the Pikmin 4 we’ve all be holding our breaths waiting for more news on, but it’s a step in the right direction. Perhaps Pikmin 3 Deluxe is simply warming us up for the new adventure next year. We can only hope!
The Dark Pictures Anthology: Little Hope – Oct. 30

Following on from 2019’s Man of Medan comes the next entry in the ‘Dark Pictures Anthology’ Little Hope. The game follows four college students and their professor who find themselves stranded in the spooky town of Little Hope, New England after their bus crashes.
With a rich history of witch hunting, Little Hope is teeming with spooky goings on that the group must uncover, while doing their best to survive until the very end.
Much like Man of Medan, the gameplay will largely see players making dialog decisions and choices for different characters. Depending on whether you succeed or fail these choices and QTEs will determine which of the characters (if any) make it to the end.
While Man of Medan turned out to be a lot less scary than first expected, Little Hope seems quite the opposite. We can’t wait to get the bejeezus scared out of us when the game releases on Oct. 30 for PS4, Xbox One and PC.
Assassin’s Creed Valhalla – Nov. 10

Ever since the Assassin’s Creed series took a break off from its annual release schedule and returned a year later with Origins, interest in the series has been revitalized. With a much more modern-feeling RPG system at their core, reworked climbing and traversal mechanics, and sprawling open worlds teeming with things to see and do, both Origins and Odyssey have ushered in a new-age of Templar assassinations.
And so arrives Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. Following Viking raider, Eivor, players will lead their clan out of desolation and destruction in Norway and to a new home in ninth-century England. That means plenty of battling with the current inhabitants… or assassinating them from the cover of darkness.
Players will lead their crew of raiders into battles against Saxon armies and fortresses and use any spoils from their adventures to help upgrade your settlement, unlocking new features and quests in the process.
If you’re looking for a massive open-world game to sink some time into and you’ve been a fan of the AC series, Valhalla should definitely be on your radar.
Destiny 2: Beyond Light – Nov. 10

Ok, ok, so technically Destiny 2: Beyond Light isn’t an entirely new game, but it does mark a significant turning point for the beloved sci-fi looter shooter, and that in itself makes it worth mentioning here.
Alongside the introduction of yet another chunk of story content and missions for players to work through, Beyond Light also introduces the Stasis class and sub-class. Europa will also be added to your Navigator map, itself coming with a ton of new secrets and special gear that players can find to make their Guardian more powerful than ever.
While New Light isn’t likely to convert those who aren’t already interested in Destiny 2, it’s a welcome addition for long-term and lapsed fans alike.
Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War – Nov. 13

You knew it was going to be on here somewhere, so at least you’re not disappointed! Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is not only the latest entry in the immensely popular FPS series, it’s also a real mouthful of a title!
Black Ops Cold War will bring the four pillars that have made the series so popular. Campaign, Multiplayer, Zombies and Warzone.
The Campaign will see players battle their way through iconic world settings such as East Berlin, Vietnam, Turkey, KGB Headquarters and more as they once again try and put a stop to worldwide threats. The multiplayer brings back its fast-paced, twitchy combat on a variety of maps with a plethora of game modes to play. Earn XP, level up, Prestige and do it all over again.
Zombies will bring a new assortment of weapons and equipment for taking on the undead, but right now we don’t know much about the mode. Finally, Black Ops Cold War will expand upon the existing Call of Duty: Warzone Battle Royale experience.
In other words, there’s a ton to keep the disc spinning in your console’s drive for months at a time, and we wouldn’t have it any other way.
Cyberpunk 2077 – Nov. 19

The one we’ve all been waiting for god knows how many years for: Cyberpunk 2077 is almost here and, if The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt’s anything to go by, is almost ready to consume every hour of your free time for a very long time.
So what’s it all about, then? Well, players will assume control of V, a mercenary in the megalopolis, Night City, where everybody’s obsessed with power, glamor, and body augmentation — all under the watchful eye of the corporate overlords who run the show.
As V sets about earning money, advancing up the ranks of various factions, and toppling the powers that be, he/she can call on all manner of futuristic weapons and gadgetry to that end.
Why should you be so excited? CD Projekt Red’s last major title, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt feature a world with insane levels of detail, and an unfathomable amount of quests and other content to sink your teeth into. All of this in a fully-realized fantasy world with satisfying combat and you’ve got one of the greatest games of all time.
