What to Expect From Bethesda at E3 2018
With the recent announcement of Fallout 76, and not much information beyond reported leaks that the game won’t be a traditional Fallout game, we can definitely expect to hear more about it at E3.
With just a minute and a half teaser trailer to go off of, it would seem to take place in West Virginia, with the story revolving around Vault 76, one of Vault-Tec’s nuclear shelters. Vault 76 was designed as a control vault to compare its subject to those in the company’s experimental shelters.
The control vaults were intended to open their doors 20 years after the event of a nuclear strike. As seen on the Pip-Boy at the start of the trailer, the date is 25 years and four days after The Great War in Fallout canon. This is quite a bit sooner after the war than other Fallout Games, with Fallout 4’s Vault 111 having cryo-frozen its inhabitants for 200 years.
So what will we hear about Fallout 76 at E3? At this point, we really don’t know. But if reports from Kotaku are to be believed, we’ll be hearing about an online survival RPG that takes inspiration from DayZ and Rust. Time will tell if those rumors turn out to be true.
Rage 2 Gameplay Footage
What to Expect From Bethesda at E3 2018
Last month Bethesda released a Rage 2 announcement trailer. Alongside it, an overview of the game promised a dystopian world without law, order, or even society. The overview said Rage 2 will be an open world first-person shooter coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
Being jointly developed by id Software and Avalanche Studios, a gameplay trailer was released the day after the announcement. Along with the trailer, details of the story were released confirming you will play as Walker, the wasteland’s final Ranger. Having had your home taken away from you and being left to die, you’ll take on gangs and try to bring an end to The Authority’s rule.
So far we have a release window of 2019, which we can hope Bethesda will narrow down during their conference. As for what else we’ll find out about Rage 2 during the show, more information about the gun-heavy gameplay and more footage of it in action is always appreciated by fans, but we’ll have to wait to find out if that’s what we’ll get.
Prey DLC
What to Expect From Bethesda at E3 2018
Here’s where we move on to the more speculative things Bethesda could bring to their E3 showing this year. With Prey having come out last year, DLC for the game was confirmed prior to its release, but has yet to be seen.
The Prey Twitter account has sent a few tweets potentially teasing the DLC since March of this year, starting with a gif of the Moon (that tweet is still pinned on the account). Days after that tweet, another image was posted showing someone looking out over the Moon from a building on its surface.
A week after that second tweet, Arkane Studios posted an image on their Twitter account wishing people a Happy #PreyDay. In the background of the image is a whiteboard with the word Moon and a date of June 10, 2018, the day of Bethesda’s press conference.
While nothing’s confirmed, Prey fans will likely be very disappointed if the conference ends without having heard anything about the series.
Wolfenstein II – Switch Release and DLC

With the Nintendo Switch version of Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus scheduled to release late this month, it seems it would be easy for Bethesda to fit some time into the conference to at least advertise it. More gameplay footage of it running on the console may be appreciated by Switch owners thinking of picking it up.
Wolfenstein II could get a DLC announcement as well, with The Freedom Chronicles having released its third and final episode in March. Though the prior DLC wasn’t well received due to a poorly written story, recycled environments, and a lack of new tools for you to use, those problems could be fixed now that the original DLC trilogy has concluded.

The Elder Scrolls – Legends, Online, and beyond
What to Expect From Bethesda at E3 2018
There are a number of Elder Scrolls games Bethesda could make announcements about on stage this Sunday.
The Elder Scrolls: Legends is Bethesda’s free-to-play digital collectible card game that was released last year, but it’s been a while since news has come out about what’s in store for the future. Expansion sets aren’t uncommon for Legends, with four having released so far, so more cards may be in the works for an E3 announcement. Bethesda may, however, skip Legends completely at E3, we really don’t know thanks to how close they’ve been holding their cards to their chest.
For The Elder Scrolls Online, with the most recent piece of downloadable content, Summerset, having released on PC late last month and this Wednesday on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, now could be a great time to announce what’s coming next. Ensuring players the MMORPG will continue to be supported into the future will keep those playing around, and may stir others to go back to it or give it a try for the first time. We know Summerset isn’t the end of the road for ESO, with two more DLCs releasing this year and more promised for years to come.
Then there’s the potential for a giant, and very surprising announcement. With the last mainline Elder Scrolls game having released in 2011, people are itching to see what the series has to offer next. The announcement of The Elder Scrolls VI has the potential to be the largest announcement at this year’s E3, partly because we have no idea if it’s coming or not.
