5. Stitch

The little blue ball of chaos returns as one of the more creative combat techniques in Sora’s arsenal.

Armed with his trademark alien blasters and a plasma-based lightning element infusion, Stitch and Sora can team up to set up energy pylons across the battlefield.

Once enough are in place, they can then be connected to form force fields that rip and repel enemies caught in their fields of effectiveness, turning an entire battlefield into dust if players can maneuver themselves around properly.

It’s by no means a bad summon, but it is difficult to execute as intended against the late-game enemy variants. Their faster movement speeds make setting up pylons harrowing, and the slow movement speed of setting up the pylons only worsens this.

It’s still worth checking out, but considering how late in the game it arrives, there’s not a whole lot of room for it to shine or prove its usefulness unless players are willing to back-track to past worlds.

4. Wreck-It Ralph

A new addition to the Kingdom Hearts universe, Wreck-It Ralph provides a special take on a summon companion with a decently powerful array of moves.

Once summoned, Ralph can construct blocks around the battlefield to smash at a later time. They can be piled on top of one another too, allowing for the speedy construction of towers and walls to reach or trap enemies both high and low.

Once enough blocks are in place, the order can be given to wreck them, causing a chain reaction of pixelized explosions and damaging debris to rain out at everything within range.

It’s a summon that can easily deal a ton of damage to enemies, and if used properly it can even decimate a fair number of bosses in no time flat.

That said, it can also be difficult to get a handle on at first due to Ralph’s slow movement speed. It’s provided fairly early on in the game though, so there’s plenty of time provided for experimentation and devising of strategies.

3. Ariel

Making the jump from party companion to summon character, The Little Mermaid’s Ariel is a fairly well-balanced and useful addition to Sora’s aresnal.

Diving in and out of the battlefield, Ariel can leap high into the air to strike airborne enemies or drag ground-based targets upward. After diving back into the ground, she leaves behind pools of water that vary in size based on players’ button press timing.

Once her time limit is up, players can unleash a finisher that uses these puddles to fire jets of water up into the air, dousing the whole of the area in a spray of fast-hitting, damage dealing water works.

It’s a highly useful summon, though it isn’t without its weaknesses. Ariel can’t leap very far, making large and spread-out areas less than ideal for her attacks.

Likewise, enemies that are high enough up in the air during her final attack can escape suffering any damage.

That said though, it’s a good summon that will provide players with a fast and easy AOE attack in mid-ranged environments, and can easily rack up a quick kill count when used properly.

2. The Dream Eaters

The first of the summons provided to Sora in Kingdom Hearts 3, the Dream Eaters are surprisingly long-lasting in their versatility and usefulness.

Once summoned, Sora can hop on the back of a Meow Wow and bounce around the battlefield. While doing so, the Meow Wow can send large groups of enemies flying with twisting cyclone attacks going up and flatten them with shockwave blasts on impact with the ground.

Each bounce also inflates the Meow Wow, increasing its size and attack radius. After it reaches its maximum size, players can choose to deflate it, sending it rocketing after enemies around the area for quick and easy damage.

It’s all capped off with a finishing blow that sees a wave of Dream Eaters burst across the screen, dealing damage to any enemies they come in contact with.

It’s a highly versatile summon that can be useful in a variety of areas, and even in some late-stage portions of the game it can clear away enemies in a flash.

Even if it’s not ideal to use in boss fights or tight areas, it’ll serve most any player well throughout their adventure.

1. Simba

There are broken and imbalanced techniques in games, and then there’s the Simba summon in Kingdom Hearts 3.

Imbued with fire magic, each of Simba’s attacks sets the arena ablaze. He can send out a roar that fires off a blazing shockwave with a massive AOE, or leap across areas toward enemies and tear through them with a flaming dive bomb.

Both of these moves can make quick work of most any enemy, and thanks to his substantial size and speed, it’s easy to wipe out entire waves of enemies in one attack.

That’s not even covering his final attack, which sees him leap into the air and emit a scorching supernova of flame on the entire surrounding area. It’s sure to clean up any small fries that managed to survive, and cleave through several of a boss’s health bars.

It’s an absurdly overpowered summon, and considering it’s given to the player at the mid-point of the game, it’ll prove to be a regularly used part of Sora’s magical abilities throughout most any player’s adventure.
