Amazon Prime Day is right around the corner and that means members will be able to get even bigger deals than usual as they shop on the site starting on July 10 at 6 PM PT/9 PM ET, and running all through July 11. Of course, seeing as how big Amazon is all over the world, there are a few gaming deals sprinkled into the mix.

The sale is bringing loads of options to those looking for a deal ranging from travel cases, to headsets, to games, and even to some powerful gaming hardware. We’re going to breaking this down by games, accessories, and hardware (consoles and PCs), to make it clear what you should look out for. One thing to note is that the actual savings aren’t available until the specific sale starts.  So, to help you get your money’s worth, we’re going to take a look at items that are worth keeping an eye on.

Games

Amazon Prime Day doesn’t have a whole lot of games on offer, but there are a few big ones. Here’s the current list of games available as part of the upcoming deals:

  • 88 Heroes
  • Assassin’s Creed: The Ezio Collection
  • Call of Duty: Black Ops Collection (360)
  • Darksiders: Warmastered Edition
  • Dark Souls III
  • Digimon World: Next Order
  • Dragon Quest Heroes II
  • Earth Defense Froce 4.1: The Shadow of New Despair
  • Farming Simulator 17
  • Final Fantasy XV
  • For Honor
  • Ghost Recon Wildlands
  • Guitar Hero Supreme Party Edition
  • Just Dance 2017
  • LEGO Worlds
  • Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 4 Road to Boruto
  • Nier: Automata
  • Nioh
  • Onechanbara Z2: Chaos
  • Overwatch
  • Prey
  • Putty Squad
  • Rainbow Six Siege
  • Super Dungeon Bros
  • Super Mario Maker 3DS
  • Super Smash Bros. 3DS
  • Tekken 7
  • The Elder Scrolls Online: Morrowind
  • The Vanishing of Ethan Carter
  • WRC 5

While Amazon hasn’t shared exactly what discounts you can expect on these games, there are some that jump out. Nioh, a PS4 exclusive that just came out this year to high praise (you can check out our review here) and is definitely worth picking up. With Prime Day set on having better deals than usual, you may be able to pick up the game much cheaper than usual. Another PS4 title from this year that you should definitely go for is Nier: Automata, it’s different from most action-RPGs and has a wonderfully gripping story. Prey, another title from not too long ago, going on sale is a good deal as well as it can get you into a great game to get through for the summer. It’s an interesting take on the first-person shooter genre, and it definitely delivers on atmosphere and creepiness (we suggest picking up this and Resident Evil 7 for some solid ambiance experiences). Not to be outshone by other 2017 hits, Tekken 7 is bringing some tight, combo-heavy fighting action to your TV as part of Amazone Prime Day, as well.

For those who haven’t brought themselves to try Final Fantasy XV, this is the perfect opportunity to rectify that. It was a game of the year contender for 2016 and its expansions so far have fun, unique affairs. Sticking with RPGs, you may want to check out The Elder Scrolls Online: Morrowind. It’s a solid expansion that introduces a new class (the Warden), a new area, and expands on everything that makes the MMO so great. You don’t need a subscription to enjoy the game either, so you should definitely keep it on your radar.

If you want something a bit different, Dragon Quest Heroes II is definitely worth your time. It combines action-RPG gameplay, lore and characters from the Dragon Quest series, and world building. It’s definitely worth trying out if you’re looking for a unique experience.

There are some great older titles on offer, too. Super Smash Bros. for the 3DS is a great grab if you haven’t played it. Dark Souls III is a fitting close to a stellar series that should be on your radar for PS4 and Xbox One as well. Ghost Recon Wildlands is worth picking up too if you can convince some friends to do the same. The wide open world, RPG mechanics, and mission structure will have you and your friends feeling like pros as you take down drug lords. There’s also this little game you may have heard of called Overwatch that’s on sale. With a constantly updating roster of characters, new maps, and fun Brawls thrown in to celebrate holidays and seasons, you’re sure to find a game that will last you for a long time.

Accessories

The accessory side of things for the Amazon Prime Day sale isn’t much to write home about. There are a few items that you should keep on your radar, though, as the day rolls on. Here are the items that jumped out to us.

Smatree Rechargaeable NI-MH Batteries and Charger (for Xbox One S Controller) – Why the Xbox One controllers still don’t just have internal batteries, we will never know. With that being said, battery costs add up, so grabbing these on sale is a good way to save money in the future.

Turtle Beach Ear Force Stealth 400 Fully Wireless Gaming Headset (PS4) – If you’re in need of a gaming headset but don’t want to drop too much cash, you should keep these on your radar. Solid sound, audio presets, 15 hours of battery life, and decent comfort means you definitely won’t feel cheated with these. Plus they’re fairly sturdy especially when compared with some of the other options offered.

PlayStation Gold Wireless Headset – If you’re looking for a headset that is  comfortable, has great sound, and offers sound profiles to take advantage of some of the biggest games, this is your best option on the PS4.

The Legend of Zelda Adventurers Pouch for Nintendo 3DS – Chances are that if you have a 3DS you probably already have a carry case for it. But is it leather, adorned with symbols from The Legend of Zelda, and does it come with a Master Sword stylus? We thought so.

FastSnail Nintendo Switch Joy-Con Grip – If you’re a full-sized adult, your hands probably cramp when you try to play with a single Joy-Con. It’s a novel capability of the Nintendo Switch, and saves a ton of money on gamepads, but it’s not the most comfortable way to play anything. These grips make each Joy-Con feel a bit more like a full controller so you can play with some comfort.

Nintendo Switch Deluxe Game Case – Many doubted that it would happen, but the Nintendo Switch has been receiving one great game after another, which means you may end up with a large collection of tiny cartridges that are quite easy to misplace. Pick up this case to store them all in a safe place.

Astro Gaming A40 and A50 Gaming Headsets – Really good gaming headsets will often burn a hole in your wallet. The fact that you can get an Astro at a discount is definitely something to get excited about as they deliver some of the highest quality comfort and sound, perfect for those long gaming sessions.

RAVPower 6-Port USB Charging Station – As gaming advances, so too does the need for more and more USB ports. Whether its to charge a controller, a gaming headset, VR headset, or some other new accessory, it’s easy to find yourself with more plugs than places to plug them into. This charging station provides six for you so you’ll never run out of power when it matters most.

DualShock 4 Controllers – These are pricey, so may as well grab an extra while they’re cheap.

Gaming Platforms

If you’re in the market for a new gaming console or PC you will definitely want to turn your attention to the Amazon Prime Day sales. While there aren’t a ton of discounts on consoles, there are some bundles up for sale for under $300 as well as some pre-built gaming PCs for those looking to try their hand in that space.

PS4 Slim Deal – The PS4 Slim with Uncharted 4 for only $230 is already a good deal, but Amazon is throwing in a free digital copy of The Last of Us Remastered (a must play), as well as Comixology access.

Xbox One S Bundles – There are a couple of different options here depending on how much memory you want and whether or not you’re a fan of Halo Wars. Getting an Xbox One S with four games and an extra controller for under $300 is a steal. If you’ve been on the fence and don’t really care about the upcoming One X, this is a perfect time and reason to just jump right on in.

Asus Gaming PC – So this isn’t exactly cheap, but for the power you’re getting and the fact that you’re not building it yourself, it’s a good deal. A GTX 1080 with 8GB of GDDR5 Ram, 16GB of DDR4 Ram, an i7, tons of space, and a sleek look can be yours today. Just promise us that you’ll play more than just Minecraft on it.

CYBERPOWERPC Gamer Panzer PVP3020LQ Gaming Desktop – This powerful desktop is quite powerful. You save a couple hundred bucks during Prime Day and are ready to dive into anything that gaming can throw at you.

MSI GP72VR Leopard Pro-281 – If you have the money and room for a desktop, we say go desktop. But, if you’re looking for something to play some PC games as you travel, or just like the compactness of a laptop, this MSI gaming laptop offers a lot of power, and it’s VR ready. So you can visit other worlds as you visit other cities.

You’ll definitely want to keep your eye on these items as the sales start rolling out. If you want to keep an eye on all gaming related sales that are part of Amazon Prime Day, follow this link to see what’s upcoming in the next 24 hours. One thing to note as you check out our picks and see what other deals Amazon is offering, is that each deal has a time limit (or until supplies sell out).
