The Bigger Game – The Sims 4

Xbox Games with Gold Predictions

For the current month of March 2020, subscribers to Microsoft’s Xbox Live Gold were gifted Batman: The Enemy Within – The Complete Season, Shantae: Half-Genie Hero, Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 and Sonic Generations through Games with Gold. While the free games list for the upcoming month of April 2020’s Games with Gold has yet to be released, we have some predictions as to what some of those free games might be.

Usually a larger game starts the list, and we suspect the console version of The Sims 4 will be a very possible inclusion.

The Sims 4 has recently been offered for free on PS Plus in February 2020, and it seems like an unlikely coincidence it is currently on sale for Xbox One for only $9.99.

When a game is offered on PS Plus, there usually is a greater chance it will come to Games with Gold as well or vice versa.

This includes instances like Gone Home coming to PS Plus in June 2016 and then Games with Gold in October 2017, or Metal Gear Solid V coming to PS Plus in October 2017 and then Games with Gold in May 2018.

If you don’t see The Sims 4 for free next month, then expect it sometime pretty soon.

The Smaller Game – Gang Beasts

Xbox Games with Gold Predictions

Gang Beasts, games with gold predictions

After the AAA, at least one smaller indie is usually included every month of Games with Gold as well. A perfect inclusion would be party game Gang Beasts.

Gang Beasts is a super silly multiplayer game published by Double Fine and developed by indie studio Boneloaf.

You and some friends control some tiny, squishy guys and you shove and fight each other in various fun environments. Gang Beasts is a very popular and well known indie, which many players would be happy to have since its slapstick fun is very easy to pickup and teach to others.

Microsoft has included other games with silly local-coop on Games with Gold in the past, including Overcooked in October 2018 and Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime in March 2017.

Make sure to check back in a week or so when Microsoft announces what free games will be on Games with Gold to see if any of our predictions were correct.
