We’re now smack bang in the middle the busy fall release schedule. Just the last few weeks has seen us treated to Spider-Man, Shadow of the Tomb Raider, and the annual sports titles. The train isn’t slowing down, though.

In just the first week of October, the Xbox One’s big fall exclusive, Forza Horizon 4 releases, with the open world racer taking the Horizon festival to rural Great Britain, and Assassin’s Creed Odyssey arrives. Odyssey lets you choose between two characters, Alexios and Kassandra, and follow an epic story in Ancient Greece. There’s an incredible amount of stuff to do, the world is beautiful, and the story is up there with the best in the series.

Away from those two juggernaut releases in the first week, Call of Duty returns once again, this time without a single-player story. Instead, the popular zombies and multiplayer modes are complemented by a Battle Royale mode called Blackout. Following the trend set by PUBG and Fortnite, Blackout sees at least 80 players battle it out to be the last one standing. How it fares, though, only time will tell. Here are all the video game releases for the first two weeks of October 2018.

Red Dead Redemption 2, download size, file size, install size, how big

While the second half of October 2018 seems to be busier, it’s actually quieter in terms of high profile releases, now that Battlefield 5 has been delayed into the next month. The fact of the matter is that publishers have been running as far away from these two weeks as they possibly can, and there’s only one reason for that. Oct. 26 sees the release of Red Dead Redemption 2. Rockstar’s game is arguably the biggest release of the year, let alone October.

With the online mode to release soon after and a single-player that’s sure to show up almost any other open world game around, it’ll likely emulate the meteoric success of Grand Theft Auto V. It’ll be a game to get lost in and is sure to be the highlight of the whole upcoming month. If you’re after something lighter, however, LEGO DC Super-Villains and Just Dance 2019 also release towards the end of the month.
