fallout 76

The first half of November 2018 is certainly the busiest in terms of sheer number of releases, but it’s not chock full of huge AAA titles. Tetris Effect and Deracine come to PSVR, adding to the rapidly growing selection of top quality games on Sony’s headset, while the excellent Rogue Legacy comes to Switch.

Elsewhere, Hitman 2 arrives on Nov. 13, and it’s no longer released as an episodic experience, as the first was. This time, Agent 47 has multiple locations available from the get-go. The gameplay idea remains the same, however, with loads of crazy ways to assassinate your target being possible.

Fallout 76 is undoubtedly the biggest game scheduled to release during the first two weeks of November 2018. Bethesda’s long-running RPG series is taking the experience online, using the crafting mechanics of Fallout 4 to see you develop a base. With other players in your world, though, the game might be more unpredictable than you expect from the series.

(Weeks 3 & 4: Nov. 15-30)

pokemon let's go, switch, november 2018

The second half of November 2018 is certainly quieter as the busy fall period draws to a close, but there are some standouts. Battlefield V finally releases, having been delayed from last month, and it returns to World War II. The huge, open maps and varied action separates it from the first-person shooter competition, but it’s disappointing that the Battle Royale mode won’t be available at launch.

However, arguably the star of the month, Pokemon Let’s Go Pikachu and Eevee, releases a few days earlier. Not only is the game Pokemon’s debut on Switch, but it takes us back to the Kanto region to play on fans’ nostalgia. Also, it’s developed with the causal Pokemon GO players in mind. You’ll use motion controls to catch Pokemon, and the focus has been taken off random encounters.

Below are all the video game releases for the second half of November 2018.

  • Nov. 15 – Trailblazers (Switch)
