Edelgard, Dimitri, Claude – Fire Emblem Three Houses

Fire Emblem Three Houses has been a smash hit, with a flood of fan art, overwhelmingly positive reviews, and more. Part of what makes Three Houses so great is its incredibly quirky and likable cast, headlined by the three lords; Edelgard, Dimitri, and Claude.

We’ve seen quite a few Fire Emblem amiibo in the past, including Alm and Celica who launched with the previous game, Fire Emblem Echoes. With that, it seems a bit strange that Three Houses didn’t have any brand new amiibo launching with it.

At this point, you can bet fans would come out in droves to buy the lovable characters of Three Houses, but that’s especially true with the three lords.

Considering Three Houses still has story DLC on the way, the amiibo would also serve a functional purpose, as well as for any future Fire Emblem games we might see on the Switch.

Officer Howard – Astral Chain

More for a “coolness” factor than a functional one, it’d be great to see one of the Switch’s biggest hits of 2019 get some amiibo love.

Just imagine a snazzy Astral Chain amiibo with the main character posing, and their Legion looming behind. Not only would this figure be distinctly different from any other one out there, it’d provide Nintendo a chance to produce its highest-quality amiibo yet.

Of course, this isn’t to say that there wouldn’t be any functionality. Astral Chain seems to have been a success, so an amiibo could add some kind of new feature onto the game, or maybe even tie into a new Smash Bros character, since we know more are on the way.

Pauline – Super Mario Odyssey

It’s honestly amazing that we don’t already have an amiibo for Pauline, considering how popular of a character she was right off the bat.

The mayor of New Donk City, Pauline is one of those characters that just feels so inherently Mario, like Rosalina did when she was introduced in Super Mario Galaxy.

Of course, a Pauline amiibo could function in pretty much any Mario game out there, adding her as a playable character into Mario Kart 8, Super Mario Party, or anything else.

Just imagine how slick a Pauline amiibo would look to, and it’d go perfectly with those white wedding attire amiibo that released alongside Odyssey.

Geno and Mallow – Super Mario RPG

More of a blast from the past than anything, fans of the classic Super Mario RPG won’t be happy until we see Geno return in some form. Easily one of the most cult classic character in all of Mario’s history, Geno is a fascinating character that’d be incredibly neat as an amiibo.

The wooden doll would look great with that shiny plastic, and maybe it could help tie into that dream of actually seeing Geno in Smash Bros.

With a Geno amiibo, you might as well add another party member from Super Mario RPG, the living cloud Malo.

It’s disappointing that we’ve never seen a true sequel to Super Mario RPG, and maybe it’s about time for Square Enix to take another crack at it.

Professor E. Gadd – Luigi’s Mansion

Professor E. Gadd is a quirky little character introduced in the Luigi’s Mansion series, and since then he’s appeared in a variety of other games like Super Smash Bros. Ultimate and Mario & Luigi.

The professor wears a pair of crazy glasses and it’d be fun to see a figure of him, especially with Luigi’s Mansion 3 hitting the Nintendo Switch.

For that matter, why not have a whole line of Luigi’s Mansion amiibo with different ghosts, Luigi with his vacuum, and more.

Professor Layton and Phoenix Wright

Okay they may not be actual first-party “Nintendo” characters, but Professor Layton and Phoenix Wright are still gaming icons that have almost entirely appeared on Nintendo platforms.

Of course, the ultimate hope is that one or both of these characters would appear in Smash Bros., but even if they don’t they’re still more than worthy of getting honorary amiibo, much like Shovel Knight or Solaire from Dark Souls.

We know a new Ace Attorney game is in development, and the Layton series will soon make its debut on Switch with Layton’s Mystery Journey: Katrielle and the Millionaires’ Conspiracy.

If any third-party characters get amiibo, these two should be first in line.

Nabbit – New Super Mario Bros U.

Nabbit is one of the newer characters to the Mario franchise, introduced in Super Mario Bros. U, but it’d fit in perfectly with the other Mario baddies that have their own amiibo.

The strange little rabbit creature steals from various Toad houses, and after the act has happened you only have 100 seconds to catch it.

It’s been a while since Nintendo released a new line of Super Mario amiibo, with the last set including the likes of Koopa Troopa and Goomba.

Of course, there are countless games Nabbit could work with, like Super Mario Maker 2, Super Mario Party, Mario & Sonic Olympics, and much more
