Animal Crossing

I hope that you’re all ready to be in debt once again as Animal Crossing for Switch will be launching sometime in 2019. You can, of course, expect to decorate your home, go fishing with friends, plant some flowers, and most important of all, become best friends with all of your fellow anthropomorphic neighbors.

With the latest entry, Animal Crossing: New Leaf, selling over 12 million copies, it wouldn’t be surprising if this new title in the sim franchise exceeds that number. Fans have been crying and screaming for an Animal Crossing release on Nintendo’s new console and now it’s finally happening.

We don’t know why people are so pumped to owe cash to a money-hungry raccoon, but hey, to each their own.

Being able to pop in and out of your town on the go and on your television will be quite entertaining, to say the least. In the past, it’s either been portable or strictly tied to a home console but now we’ll have the choice and being free like this will make this entry something truly unique.

We literally don’t know anything about this new game, except the fact that it’s coming in 2019, but look forward to some new type of gameplay angle that Nintendo implements in each and every iteration.

New Leaf allowed you to become the mayor, letting you have control over the design of your town like never before. Here’s hoping Animal Crossing on Switch lets you punch Tom Nook in the face for putting you in such debt, but hey, he’s only doing his job right?

Pokemon

Pokemon Switch

We just recently got a Pokemon game on the Switch in the form of Pokemon Let’s Go Pikachu and Let’s Go Eevee, but these twin titles are remakes of Pokemon Yellow with some neat mechanics thrown in from Pokemon GO and some quality of life changes that made the trek through the Kanto much much more enjoyable.

It was a great taste of what it would be like to play a Pokemon game on Switch, but in 2019 we’ll be getting an official true mainline game in the series, with a new region, a new generation of Pokemon to catch, and hopefully, an improved graphical style.

Seeing a new region in the world of Pokemon in glorious HD will be a sight to see for long-time fans of the RPG phenomenon.

If the art style of Pokemon Let’s Go Pikachu and Let’s Go Eevee was any indication as to how the next mainline game will look, then we can look forward to a pretty freakin’ good looking game, probably the best looking Pokemon game to grace our presence.

This being the 8th generation of the long-running monster catching series, we can expect veterans and Poke-newbies alike to jump on board just like folks did with Pokemon Let’s Go. And let’s face it, it’s Pokemon so you know very well that it will sell a ton of copies, like a lot.

The new Pokemon title is slated for release sometime in 2019.

Luigi’s Mansion 3

luigi's mansion 3

Luigi is back and is more scared than he’s ever been before. While the sequel to the original Luigi’s Mansion winded up on the 3DS with a more level-based structure with stages instead of one open area to explore, Luigi’s Mansion 3 apparently seems to go back to basics with him exploring one really tall spooky mansion.

Luigi’s Mansion 3 has only received one teaser trailer, but from watching it, we can see that this new iteration in this action-adventure series certainly uses the power of the Switch as it looks glorious in HD.

We don’t know if this sequel will inherit that Metroidvania-esque exploration that was present in the original GameCube title, but we’re sure that there will be tons of puzzles, ghosts to suck up in Luigi’s trusty vacuum, and frightening bosses to overcome.

While this sequel doesn’t look like it does much new for the series, it still looks like a genuinely enjoyable experience with our favorite timid hero, Luigi.

Luigi’s Mansion 3 is due for release in 2019 for the Nintendo Switch.

Yoshi’s Crafted World

yoshi's crafted world

Similar to Nintendo’s other experimental artsy platformers in recent years such as Kirby’s Epic Yarn and Yoshi’s Wooly World, Crafted World tackles an art style that consists of cardboard, paper, and you know, crafts.

Seeing our favorite little green dinosaur guy jumping and fluttering about this adorable world makes our heart just melt into a puddle and will no doubt make you feel like a child again, especially when you split those Switch controllers and share the love with a second player.

Yoshi’s Crafted World looks like the perfect feel-good platformer to play on the Switch with a partner or a loved friend and just have a good ‘ol time. And just like other Yoshi games, there are tons of hidden secrets to discover for those hard-core completionists.

Crafted World also looks super accessible and easy to play for younger gamers and people who just might not be too familiar with video games.

Yoshi’s Crafted World is scheduled to release in Q2 of 2019 for the Nintendo Switch.

Fire Emblem: Three Houses

Fire Emblem Three Houses

Finally making moves in the west in recent years, the turn-based strategy RPG series Fire Emblem has never been better in terms of exposure and game releases.

Fire Emblem: Three Houses is not only the first mainline Fire Emblem game to come to the Switch, but this is the first time that a Fire Emblem game has come to consoles since 2007’s Radiant Dawn on the Wii, marking 2019 as a huge year for this franchise.

Three Houses will feature a brand new story and a cast of original characters taking place on Fódlan, where the Church of Seiros exercises great power over the land and its people.

We’re really not sure how to pronounce either of those two words, but it sounds pretty serious and if it’s anything like prior Fire Emblem titles, we can expect drama, heartache, and blood to be shed – lots of it.

Fire Emblem: Three Houses is scheduled to launch sometime in the spring for the Nintendo Switch and from looking at that gameplay trailer shown at E3 2018, these combat sequences already look way better than the blurry battles that were present on the 3DS titles.

Town

Town

Game Freak is not only working on Pokemon for a 2019 release, but the company is also planning on releasing a brand new JRPG that is currently titled as Town, which is a working title. The JRPG takes place in a small village where monsters have mysteriously begun to appear.

It’s up to you and other fellow town members to defeat the monsters and save your village. What’s strange about Town is that the entire game surprisingly takes place in this small village and it seems you actually never get to leave.

We don’t know if GameFreak is planning on releasing this title as a fully-priced full-blown RPG, but this might end up being a tighter, bite-sized adventure, which is fine for us.

In a year with a ton of Switch games coming, it might be comforting to sit down for a couple of hours and enjoy Town once it launches sometime in 2019.

Which 2019 Nintendo Switch game are you guys excited to play the most? Let us know in the comments section below! We would love to hear your thoughts and opinions.
