It’s that time of the year again when turkey is on the brain across the nation, so what better way to keep that going than to bring you five games where you are either eating turkey or finding them. Let’s remember the turkeys that have nourished, helped, or fought players across in video gaming.
ARK: Survival Evolved
Super Turkey
This so-called “Super Turkey” was available during a limited time Thanksgiving event in Ark: Survival Evolved back in 2015 and sadly isn’t a recurring event.
Considering the massive appeal of ARK: Survival Evolved’s taming mechanics, it’s easy to imagine giving into compassion and wanting to tame some turkey to then turn them on a nearby T-Rex.
Animal Crossing: New Leaf
Franklin
Franklin is a special entry on this list as he is certainly the only sentient turkey and also arguably the most helpful.
Chef Franklin arrives in town for Animal Crossing’s Harvest Festival in just about every game and serves a major part in making the event a success with help from the player, of course.
Franklin is certainly the only entry that doesn’t only speak in gobbles.
Turkey Hunting USA
Turkey Hunting USA is a game I am sure is embedded in the brains of a generation who frequently accompanied parents during their trips to a certain grocery store chain.
For anyone not aware, yes, that’s a pump-action light gun that may or may not actually work after rough handling from kids not even playing the game.
South Park N64
Joining the ranks of fellow M-Rated N64 games such as Conker’s Bad Fur Day and Perfect Dark, South Park for the Nintendo 64 was strangely a first-person shooter where the primary weapon was snowballs.
Considering South Park’s humor, the fact that turkeys appear as one of the game’s enemies shouldn’t be shocking.
LittleBigPlanet 2
Okay, the most ridiculous entry was definitely saved for last.
Little Big Planet is a ridiculous series that puts a lot of the power of world creation into the player’s hands. Sackboy, the default character, can be edited in many different ways.
As you can see, one of such ways is the addition of a head that is actually a turkey. I can bet you didn’t expect cosmetics on this list.
