Klassic Towers, Mortal Kombat 11

While the main story mode of Mortal Kombat 11 gives us a look at all of the characters interacting with one another, it never gets too deep into their backstories. With 25 characters, it would be hard to learn more about them without a more focused narrative.

That’s where the Klassic Towers mode in MK11 comes in. You can choose one character, play a couple of matches, and see the true ending for each fighter. These “endings” aren’t all that extravagant or cinematic, but instead, are short stories told through images and narration by the character themselves.

All of the character endings are only a few minutes long, but in order to unlock every single one, it’ll take you quite some time. They provide some type of closure for all of the fighters and as usual, you never really know what may or may not be canon until the next game.

Complete the Tutorial and Play Online

If you’ve completed the story mode but feel as if you can learn a lot more techniques and keep your skills strong, you need to head on over to the tutorial section.

There are three separate extensive learning modes for you try out that include a practice mode to fight against a customizable AI, a tutorial for basic and advances fighting lessons and training all about executing Fatalities.

These tutorials, especially the one that helps with techniques will prepare you for when you begin to jump online and face other Mortal Kombat players. Beating these skilled players online might prove to be difficult, especially if you’re new to the series.

The tutorial is very  extensive and does an excellent job of explaining everything from the most basic of moves, to advanced tips like frame data that pros would know care to know.

There are character lessons for each fighter, strategies on how to build Kombos, advanced offensive/defensive moves, and much more for you to explore. And also, you even get rewarded with Time Crystals for completing each section!

Then when you’re feeling good, go try your hand in either online ranked matches, or for a more relaxed experience, unranked King of the Hill.

Explore the Krypt

Once you complete the main story mode in Mortal Kombat 11, one of the many activities that you can partake in to pass the time revolves around hand-picked daily challenges that can be completed in any mode of your choosing. You can check your Kombat Kard daily to see what tasks await you.

These challenges range from performing Fatalities to winning matches with a specific character. It seems that most of the daily challenges will award you with Mortal Kombat’s currency (koins), which you can use in the Krypt to open up a bunch of treasure chests.

In Mortal Kombat 11 you can use your collected koins, as well as your hearts, to open up treasure chests to obtain all kinds of stuff from Konsumables to Fatalities.

Each treasure chest you find requires a different amount of Koins in order to open it up; the more coins it costs, the better items you find, so you need to choose wisely as to how you spend your hard-earned money.

You can also head to The Forge in the Krypt that allows you to combine up to three items to create something new. Forging will cost you koins, hearts, and green skulls, so be sure to use the right recipes. If you choose the wrong items to combine, your precious items will be lost.

We won’t spoil anything, but if you’re a fan of MK lore, there’s a ton of easter eggs and fanservice to be found in the depths of Shang Tsung’s island… so definitely make sure you visit it at some point.

Konquer the Towers of Time

The Towers of Time in Mortal Kombat 11 feature a rotation of towers that are filled to the brim with foes to defeat in battle with modifiers that can break you down if not countered with Konsumables of your own.

These towers are similar to the Klassic Towers but instead of giving you endings for the roster, you have to overcome several different challenges that are pretty tough but yield vast rewards upon completion.

Each floating island of towers has their own sets of modifications, objectives, and rules for you to follow, and the coolest part is that each one has a time limit, disappearing and rotating on a daily basis to keep things fresh.

If you’re in desperate need of hearts and/or koins, this is the place to be and is a reliable source of highly sought after augments like skins.

Kustomize Your Fighters

There are a boatload of customization options included in Mortal Kombat 11. Each character has their own sets of skins, gear, victory quotes, brutalities, fatalities, end of round taunts, and a whole bunch of other stuff.

If you want to have your own version of Cassie Cage who wears shades and has a rad yellow suit of armor, so be it.

There are literally hundreds upon hundreds of customization items to unlock in the game, giving you free rein to make your characters perfect for your fighting style.

More importantly though, these items can be augmented to provide boosts in non-ranked matches. You can fine tune a character to fit a play style that you prefer, and give yourself an edge both in single-player and casual online matches.
