5 Cool Things From the CD Projekt Red Store to Treat Yourself

CD Projekt Red

The official CD Projekt Red store went live just today, and it’s filled with all sorts of official goodies for fans of The Witcher and Cyberpunk 2077. Here are five of the best pieces of merch that we noticed that you can pick up from the store right now.

Samurai Varsity Jacket

Cyberpunk 2077

Varsity jackets are already the best kind of jacket (clearly), but this one has a flaming cybernetic devil with husks and an ear ring. What’s not to like?

For context, “Samurai” is a popular rock band within the universe of Cyberpunk’s board-game inspiration, Cyberpunk 2020. CD Projekt Red incorporated the band into 2077, composing and playing such hits as “Chippin’ In,” which played at the end of Cyberpunk’s demo last year. This band is clearly modeled after hard rock bands of the 80’s and 90’s like Metallica and Guns N’ Roses.

Not so coincidentally, V, the protagonist, can be seen wearing a leather jacket with this logo in artwork for Cyberpunk 2077. It’s a great design and looks especially good on the varsity jacket, which you can find here.

Cardsmith’s Drawstring Bag

Gwent

The world of Witcher is traversed by fierce souls, learned in the way of the sword and the art of magic. But even in a world as ferocious and dark as this, everyone finds the time to sit down for a game of Gwent.

The avid player of this intricate card game must keep their deck on them at all times, and there’s no more simpler way to transport cards than in a dedicated bag.

The cardsmith’s drawstring bag may seem like your average knapsack, and in all honesty, it is. But the design of tattered flags and patched-up spots on the outside give this bag the appearance of a well-worn traveler’s sack. Plus, it’s one of the only items on the digital store that has a functional purpose, outside of protecting you from the cold.

Carry cards in it or not, everyone could do with an item carrier like this. You can find it here, if you’re interested.

*beep* Snapback hat

Cyberpunk 2077

You might take a passing glance at this hat and wonder, “What makes that so special?”

Well, despite your initial impression, it’s more than just a hat that simply reads “*beep*”. It’s actually a really clever throwback to the the week that Cyberpunk 2077 was unveiled.

The world had long been waiting for any sort of news on CD Projekt Red’s new sci-fi game. Their response? Dead silence for years. Then, last January, Projekt Red created a new Twitter profile to market Cyberpunk 2077, and tweeted a single word:

The rest, as they say, is history. So, this hat is more than meets the eye! It’s a cool nod to the moment Cyberpunk 2077 entered the spotlight. If that’s something you think is worth celebrating, you can find the hat here.

Wolf School Writing Set

The Witcher

For the artists, writers, and calligraphists out there, this notebook ought to be a treat.

It’s a leather (or imitation leather)-bound notebook, complete with a bookmark, a silver ink pen, and a string to hold it shut. But what really stands out are the runes on the side. Anyone who’s played The Witcher will recognize those as Signs, or magic abilities that can be used to stun and deal extra damage to enemies.

From top to bottom, the signs on the notebook are Yrden, Quen, Igni, Axii, and Aard. Combined with the rugged aesthetic of the leather cover, these signs give the notebook a Tolkienian look. It works very well for a piece of merchandise based on The Witcher.

You can find it on the store here.

Geralt Ronin Figure

The Witcher 3

Let’s be honest: is there a better thematic setting than feudal Japan? No, there isn’t (clearly), which is exactly why this re-imagined action figure of Geralt in a Japanese outfit is the best item on this list.

Just look at the intricate detail of this thing –the blue satin of the pants, the rugged leather of the boots, the tiny wrinkles on Geralt’s forehead. There’s just enough color on the outfit to contrast with the relative darkness of the tree and tiny statues that surround Geralt. Plus, there’s a tiny owl!

Really, what more could you want?

What’s especially interesting is that this figure isn’t based on any sort of official artwork that came before it. This might be pushing it, but perhaps a Japanese Witcher spin-off is in CD Projekt Red’s future? Probably not, but regardless, this is a great figure, despite the steep €219/$245 price tag. If that isn’t too much of a turn-off, you can find the figure here.
