5 Character Meetups We Can’t Wait to See Happen in Persona Q2

The power of bonds and fan service.

Persona 5, atlus,

School Presidents (Makoto Niijima and Mitsuru Kirijo)

Recommended Videos

If there’s one thing these two have in common, it’s the dedication and passion they put into their studies. Both Makoro and Mitsuru hold the prominent position of school president amidst the other duties they have in life. They are also fierce warriors who aren’t afraid to kill shadows, and brilliant strategists in their respective group.

Incidentally, these two lovely ladies are socially awkward when it comes to mingling with people in their age group despite their eloquence and acumen. In Persona Q2, however, there’s no doubt that Makoto and Mitsuru will find some sort of solace with each other among their hectic and rowdy friends. Maybe we’ll even get to see them geek out about their favorite subjects and complain about the terrible teachers that roam their school halls.

Ace Detectives (Goro Akechi and Naoto Shirogane)

Goro, like Naoto, is a famous detective who also doubles as a TV personality. These two are popular icons in Japan because of their mysterious and cool aura along with their impressive deduction skills. Goro’s fame even rose to the point where many dubbed him as the “second advent of the detective prince,” effectively following Naoto’s footsteps as the original title holder. However, beyond their bravado lie two lonely people who simply want to be accepted and loved for who they truly are.

In Persona Q2, It would be interesting to see Goro meet his “senior” in their line of detective work. Maybe he’d ask her for some advice or they’d share their personal strategies for when trying to pin down a perpetrator. Their combined intellect leads us to the question on how Persona Q2 will craft a complex mystery that even two expert detectives couldn’t easily solve.

Cuddly Companions (Morgana, Teddie, Koromaru)

These three adorable party members more or less act as the mascots for their respective games. Aside from their delightful designs, Morgana, Teddie, and Koromaru act as the motivator and mood setter for their team. They can cheer the cast with their wit and charm which ultimately pushes them to keep at their goals.

If they manage to meet in Persona Q2, they’d probably share the most embarrassing stories about their team (while Koromaru uses Aigis as a translator). Morgana would also probably boast about how he’s the most useful member of the Phantom Thieves with Teddie and Koromaru listening in awe until Ryuji eventually steps in and destroys his image. Then there’s also the chance that Morgana and Teddie would fight for Ann’s attention in Persona Q2 with none of them succeeding.

Persona Protagonists (Makoto Yuki, Yu Narukami, Akira Kurusu)

These protagonists in the Persona series pretty much represent the player as they have the option to pick their personality through dialogue options. However, Atlus has slowly been fleshing them out as their own characters through their respective anime, movies, and manga. While Makoto is stoic, calm, and reserved, Yu and Akira are much more spontaneous, outgoing, and even flirty. Despite the differences in personality, one factor binds the three Wild Card wielders together: the fierce love and dedication they have for their friends.

In Persona Q2, we can easily picture Yu and Akira doing some strange activities while Makoto would be forced to tag along. They’d also trade information about their team for strategic purposes and maybe even talk about their personal values. It’d be interesting to see how Yu would react to the Phantom Thieves as the investigation team mainly deals with solving crimes. Despite this, the three Persona protagonists would still become great friends and brothers in arms in Persona Q2.

Psychotic Sweethearts (Yukiko Amagi and Haru Okumura)

Both Yukiko and Haru can be considered as the perfect image of a proper Japanese woman because of their polite demeanor and graceful appearance. It’s also worth pointing out that the both of them are the successors to their family business and have to deal with heavy obligations at such a young age. While they may appear friendly and reserved, Yukiko and Haru actually have a sillier and darker side to their personalities. They both share a love for horror while the latter openly admits to feeling a sweet sense of satisfaction when slaying Shadows.

Judging by their social standing and interest, these two would hit it off after meeting each other in Persona Q2. Haru would possibly understand Yukiko’s strange sense of humor as she’s pretty eccentric herself. On top of that, they’d share their favorite horror flicks while scaring the others like Yukari, Chie, and Ann with a collection of ghost stories.
