5 Best Overwatch League Player Performances From Stage 2 Week 2

MUMA – HOUSTON OUTLAWS – REINHARDT

Houston Outlaws lost to both Philadelphia Fusion and New York Excelsior this last week in the Overwatch League. However, tank-player Muma made our list due to his strong performance with Reinhardt, especially in the Saturday game against New York Excelsior.

Muma is very skilled at switching up aggressive and defensive tactics with Reinhardt, which can be seen in the clip below where he takes out the enemy Genji, Winston, and D.Va all while barely losing any health.

Another impressive moment came a little later in the same game, when during a push, Jjonak using Zenyatta used Transcendence to hold the point. Muma then uses the perfect angle with his pin to push Zenyatta off the map at the end of King’s Row without actually falling in himself.

Currently, Houston Outlaws are fifth overall in the Overwatch League standings, but if we see more admirable player performances from Muma like we saw this week going forward, then the Outlaws might rise in the ranks a bit more over the course of stage two.

MUNCHKIN – SEOUL DYNASTY – TRACER

Seoul Dynasty has started the second stage of the Overwatch League quite strong going 4-0 at the end of last week, and DPS player Munchkin on Tracer has a lot to do with that success.

With 51 eliminations against only 11 deaths with over 25,000 damage done as the character on Friday alone, Munchkin greatly helped his team to take that 3-1 win against Los Angeles Gladiators.

At the start of the week on Wednesday, Munchkin was also excelling using Tracer against Dallas Fuel. His tracking was on point throughout all four games, and his pulse bombs always seemed to hit their mark as can be seen in the clips both above and below.

As Seoul Dyntasy attempts to rise again to retake the throne from New York Excelsior, Munchkin and his teammate Fleta will be the DPS players to watch.

LIBERO – NEW YORK EXCELSIOR – GENJI

After this week, there is just clip after clip of Libero for New York Excelsior absolutely destroying as Genji, proving the team is holding the number one spot in the Overwatch League standings for a reason.

Libero is able to consistently get picks no matter what the situation, with his reflexes on Genji’s abilities combined with his game sense making him a next level DPS. Take down below, for example, where after taking out the enemy Zenyatta, he dashes and reflects a McCree shot in mid-air.

Earlier in the week on Thursday with Genji, Libero also went 29-5 on just the map of Gibraltar, proving he’s in it for the long run as a top-tier player capable of maintaining his high-performance standards across not just multiple maps, but against multiple teams.

And how about one more nano-boosted 6K play for the road.

It’s also worth mentioning Libero played very well as Hanzo last week too, a character he is known for during his time competing in OGN APEX.

BDOSIN – LONDON SPITFIRE – ZENYATTA

Like Shaz for Los Angeles Gladiators or Ryujehong for Seoul Dynasty, London Spitfire’s Bdosin is proving healers have the potential for some high damage output as well.

He got some insane numbers on Saturday against Philadelphia Fusion, with 39 eliminations and an insane 93 assists, all while pulling off almost 40,000 points of healing. Not to mention this was all done while only dying a mere 12 times during the match as Zenyatta.

In a play seen below, he pushes forward with the Transcendence to immediately pop out and kill both healers in the span of a few seconds, Boombox on Zenyatta and Neptuno on Lucio.

Bdosin has some of the best damage/healing numbers in all of the Overwatch League, proving himself to be a DPS threat without sacrificing healing his five teammates and maintaining his support role on the team.

SOON – LOS ANGELES VALIANT – TRACER

Soon continues to be a standout player in the league due to his skills with Tracer not just for eliminating enemy players, but always keeping the payload in motion during every escort map he finds himself on.

Scoring player of the match alongside fellow Tracer player Striker, he played phenomenally against Dallas Fuel on Friday. He has high impact at the start of every match, and very often engages players near the payload/map points in order to either stall the capture or get ticks as quickly as possible.

When he is not near the point, he is also a pro at camping to stall integral enemy players such as Harryhook on the Mercy seen below, essentially sabotaging Dallas Fuel’s team fight as they are left with one less healer.

During that Friday match, he had a whooping 52% pulse bomb attach rate with 15 total pulse bomb kills, a huge number when usually even 40% is considered impressive. He also finished the match with 102 eliminations against only 24 deaths, with a staggering 42,698 damage done overall.

In the clips above, Soon almost single-handily takes out all six of the enemy players one after the other, demonstrating his excellent tracking abilities with Tracer and he continues to be a threat as Los Angeles Valiant holds spot number four in the league standings at the end of last week.
