Ways Cyberpunk 2077 Could Steal the Show at E3 2019
A Release Date
First announced in 2012, Cyberpunk 2077 has been lurking in development until it burst out into the spotlight at last year’s E3, winning PC Gamer’s Best of E3 award. Since announcing its return to this year’s E3, the number one thing on people’s mind is when can they get their hands on it.
Speculation says there may be a 2019 release but developers are still saying the game will come out “when it’s ready.” Let’s just hope that this highly anticipated game will be ready this year.
It would be a shock if CD Projekt Red announced at E3 a summer release, but my hopes are up for an early 2020 release. At this point, it seems that Cyberpunk 2077 is in the end stages if they’re willing to show the game off again so we can’t far off.
Then again, CD Projekt Red has been known for high quality projects in recent years, so if they need until 2021 or beyond to finish the game, you can bet that’s when we’ll see it.

Public Playable Demo
Last year CD Projekt Red gave a private showing of Cyberpunk 2077’s gameplay and we were there.
That demo was later revealed in a 48-minute walkthrough showcasing the character customization as well as embarking on a mission highlighting a butterfly effect of choices you can make throughout which has consequences for the rest of the game.
This choose-your-own pathway to do missions is one of the game’s most highly anticipated features.
The demo was the first time Cyberpunk 2077 has been shown since its teaser trailer in 2013. This year, people are hoping for a playable demo that takes them deeper into the world of Night City and enlighten us on how big the open world really is.
The new gameplay can also show the fluidity and depth of class customization and shed light upon how many customization options there are.
While the release date is still very much in the air, it wouldn’t be crazy to see a playable public demo for a short-sequence towards the beginning of the game. It would certainly create a ton of buzz.

Reveal More Story/Player Progression
With the recent news that Cyberpunk 2077 hired a new design director (former game director of The Witcher 3, Konrad Tomaszkiewicz), high hopes regarding the story emerged.
During E3 this time around, we hope to get more information on the plot of the story as and also peek at the multifarious choices we were teased with last year and how the effect the dynamic of the game.
When giving us a shakedown of the story, CD Projekt Red can also give more insight into player progression. What happens when the character levels up? What skills are there? Is there a level cap? Can these skills impact the story?
All we know about the story is that you control the character V, a highly skilled gun for hire trying to make their way up the ranks while dealing with different factions along the way.
Single-player RPGs with deep role-playing elements are harder to get right these days, but beloved when done correctly. If anyone has proven they can nail this in recent years, it’s CD Projekt Red.

Update on Multiplayer
While the game is confirmed to be released as a single-player title there are still rumors and hopes that multiplayer will come to fruition at a later date so they can explore the vast Night City with their friends.
CD Projekt Red has said that multiplayer is in the research and development stage and two job listings posted on their official website could hint at them being for Cyberpunk 2077’s multiplayer development.
I wouldn’t get your hopes up for developers to shed light on this as much as the other three topics at E3 but if they get bombarded with questions there’s a chance they’ll make a statement.
While some might shudder at the notion, people also were frightened at the thought of a multiplayer mode in Mass Effect 3, another beloved RPG franchise, and that turned out quite fine. We’ll have to wait and see if it even exists first, and if revealed at E3, it would certainly cause a commotion.
