Sonic the Hedgehog
I’m sure you saw this Halloween costume coming. If you’ve been on the internet for any amount of time in the last month then you’ve probably seen that horrifying Sonic mask that is modeled after the new movie design.
It looked strange in the movie trailers and the mask is even more bizarre. Luckily, if you’re in a time crunch to find a costume, then this is a fast and easy option.
Just toss that creepy mask on with some blue pants and a blue shirt and you’re ready to go. If you want to put in a little more effort, then you can get some gloves, running shoes, and cut an oval into the front of the shirt.
Mario or Luigi
This is yet another classic video game-related Halloween costume. Mario and Luigi are instantly recognizable and easy enough costumes to throw together on a shortened timeline.
All you need are a pair of overalls, a red or green shirt, a red or green hat, some white gloves, and a fake mustache. If you can’t find the Mario and Luigi hats online, then using a sharpie to a regular hat will do.
If you want to spruce things up a bit, then you can go for the NES Open Mario (often called USA Mario) look, or the Mario Maker look. They just require different suspenders, but either one is sure to impress.
Tetromino
Some of your friends might look at this costume and ask, “why are you dressed up as a pile of boxes?” These are the friends that you need to cut out of your life since they can’t recognize a simple Tetromino.
If you have just one square-shaped box, then you can go as the square Tetromino with the help of a sharpie. Otherwise, just some spray paint some boxes held together by packing tape and jump in that thing.
You can even elevate this costume by going with some psychedelic paints or patterns on the boxes and go as Tetris Effect Tetromino. Anything metallic or iridescent is sure to give you the look you’re going for.
Doom Slayer
This costume can go a number of different ways. You can go full armored Doom Slayer, or you can just get a green shirt and pants and call it a day. Either way, there’s one piece that draws it all together.
You need to have a mask that looks like the head of a demon. Just carry that thing around all night and someone is sure to recognize you as the Doom Slayer.
If you want to pay homage to the original Doomguy, then you can tear up the part of your shirt that covers your abdomen. Next, just slap on some bodypaint to simulate the appearance of a scratch from a demon claw and you’re set.
Goose
Admittedly, the Goose costume might just appear to some as a goose costume and not the main character of Untitled Goose Game. That’s a risk you’ll just need to be willing to take if you don this costume.
Truly, this costume is a cinch to pull off. All you need is a white shirt, some orange pants or shorts and a fake goose bill you can wear over your nose. You can also get some fake white feathers, but that’s up to you.
What’ll make this costume perfectly annoying is a real goose call. You can get a pretty cheap one online since you’re not actually going to use it for hunting. Get ready to ruin some people’s Halloween with this costume.
Mr. X
This is probably the most legitimately terrifying costume on the list. Halloween is all about scaring the socks off of people and this costume is sure to dredge up bad memories for RE2 Remake players.
Sure, you might not be as physically imposing as Mr. X since you’re likely not seven feet tall. At least you can look as bulky as this monster with the help of some pillows or foam.
Just line the inside of a trench coat with some padding to start. Then, load up on the gray face paint to give you that trademark look. Finally put on that oh-so-stylish trilby hat to complete the look.
Trials Motorbike Rider
A Trials Motorbike Rider costume is another one that people might not quite get from the start. Even fans of the game might not understand what exactly what look you’re going for.
This is more of a speculative look at what happens to that poor soul that has to ride through Hell on their trusty motorbike. Once he gets from the track to the ER he’ll be completely covered in bandages from head to toe.
This could certainly look like a mummy costume if not done right, so get some riding gloves on and put on that helmet. You gotta keep that noggin safe so you can jump back on the bike once your shattered bones heal.
Pikachu
A costume of the famous electric mouse Pokemon, Pikachu, is unmistakable. Most of all, it’s also ridiculously easy to throw together. It can also be refined a bit if you want to go the extra mile.
There are plenty of Pikachu ears you can toss on with a yellow shirt and call it a day. Sometimes people will even just pick up Pikachu onesies to wear as costumes for Halloween. Those are all fine options.
If you want to go the extra mile you need to paint those trademark red cheeks on. A handheld Tesla coil may be a bit much, but you can at least get one of those handshake shockers to add a touch of electricity to your costume.
Farmer Thanos
The mad titan has gone peaceful and just wants to grow some crops. Is that too much to ask? A Farmer Thanos costume is sure to get some laughs, but it’s also a super easy costume to throw together in a hurry.
All you need is some purple bodypaint for your face (or even a Thanos mask) and right hand. The left hand can be untouched to wield the infamous Infinity Gauntlet fully equipped with the Infinity Stones.
Throw on some old tattered clothes, and the look is complete. Yes, Thanos isn’t a video game character, but the costume is relevant enough and he has appeared in enough games to be included on this list.
Spider-Man in Boxers
This version of Spider-Man is specifically from the PS4 game. That means he is a video game character. Now that we have that cleared up, let’s dig deep into this highly complex Halloween costume.
It’s literally just a pair of boxers and a Spider-Man mask. That’s all there is to it. To be clear, I’m not encouraging anyone to go out in this costume. It’s just an easy idea and not a bad choice if you plan to stay in by yourself.
While that would be an incredibly sad sight, at least you can go all out by buying replicas of the same boxers Peter Parker has in the game. You could even pick up some silly string to simulate Spider-Man’s webs.
