To Your Eternity Uses Its Manga Covers to Create the Show’s Opening

It has been just over a week since To Your Eternity debuted, and fans are still talking about this highly anticipated, emotional roller coaster of an anime. While most of those conversations are surrounding the heartbreaking content inside the actual show, some keen viewers have noticed something really cool about the show’s opening as well.

In a post to the anime subreddit, user BernLan pointed out that the opening for To Your Eternity is actually made up of the cover art from the first five volumes of the mangas. While they have slight variations, you can see in the comparison below how similar the OP and the covers are.

So far, we’ve only seen the first two volumes covered, with each getting an entire episode devoted to them. In total, the season is set to be 20 episodes, meaning that it will pass volume 5 in the manga in no time at all if it keeps up this pace story wise.

For anyone that hasn’t heard of To Your Eternity, the show revolves around an immortal that wanders the earth, experiencing the many pains and joys of that life has to offer throughout. Crunchyroll’s official description is as followed:

To Your Eternity is a totally unique and moving manga about death, life, reincarnation, and the nature of love. A lonely boy wandering the Arctic regions of North America meets a wolf, and the two become fast friends, depending on each other to survive the harsh environment.
