The Harry Potter franchise is returning to the big screen this fall with Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, which just received a brand new full-length trailer.
The nearly three minute trailer gives us a very different look at the Harry Potter universe, as Fantastic Beasts takes place seventy years before the main series in New York. The main character Newt Scamander is the author of a textbook used at Hogwarts that has the same name as the film. As the trailer shows us, Newt is a British wizard who seems to struggle a bit to fit in with his American counterparts.
Monsters and beasts have been released upon New York out of a magical briefcase that Newt carries, partly because ofa No-Maj(the American word for Muggle) named Jacob. Now it’s up to Newt and a few others to hunt the creatures down and recapture them. Of course it looks like something more could be at play behind the scenes. In addition to creatures, there’s plenty of wand-wielding and magic spells in the new trailer. Take a look at it down below.
Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them releases in theaters on November 18.
