January marked the beginning of the winter season for anime shows and 2021 has had a lot of releases. Instead of having to dig through every show that has come out on Crunchyroll, we’ve made a list of six winter Crunchyroll anime in 2021 to give a watch this season.
Dr. Stone Season 2: Stone Wars
Winter Crunchyroll Anime 2021
The second season of Dr. Stone, titled Stone Wars, started on Jan. 14 and has put us back in the world of Senku and his friends. Stone Wars picks up where season 1 left off.
It is nearing the end of winter and Senku’s Kingdom of Science has to find a way to defeat Tsukasa’s empire with as little bloodshed as possible. In this season we can expect to see more of Taiju and Yuzuriha, two characters who were mostly absent from the first season after being revived.
As always, Senku continues to create wondrous technologies in a world that has no idea what science is. Stone Wars is sure to be exciting and is definitely a top pick of anime to watch this year.
Heaven’s Design Team
Winter Crunchyroll Anime 2021
Heaven’s Design Team is a brand new anime that aired on Crunchyroll this season. This anime follows a team of angels who have been tasked by God to create all of the animals on Earth.
The team is full of colorful characters, ranging from the angel that wants every animal to be pretty, to the angel that needs to taste test every animal to see how delicious it is. These characters, along with their quirks, make this anime standout for being funny and enjoyable.
As an added bonus the anime also has an educational aspect with interludes teaching real-life facts about some of the animals you see created.
If you’re looking for a brand new anime to watch Heaven’s Design Team is an excellent choice.
The Quintessential Quintuplets Season 2
Winter Crunchyroll Anime 2021
If you’re looking for an Anime to confuse and frustrate you in the best possible way then season 2 of The Quintessential Quintuplets is perfect. Futaro Uesugi is the tutor of five identical quintuplets who are doing poorly in school.
In the first season of this anime, we watched relationships bloom between Futaro and each of the girls, to the point where you might not know who you want to get together.
We also know that Futaro will marry one of the quintuplets, but her identity is unrevealed, leaving a bit of mystery to this anime. Season 2 should undoubtedly continue to be a rollercoaster of emotion that only a well-written anime can bring.
The second season has already started airing, so be sure to catch up!
The Hidden Dungeon Only I Can Enter
Winter Crunchyroll Anime 2021
Another brand new anime to add to your watchlist, The Hidden Dungeon Only I Can Enter, is a must-watch for any fantasy fans. The main character, Noir Starga, is from the lowest class of noble in his world, which makes living hard for him and his family.
Noir however was born with a rare skill that helps him find a hidden dungeon where he may be able to train enough to make a name for himself. The problem is that Noir is unable to use his skill without getting excruciating headaches, and the only way to get rid of them is by kissing someone.
The anime world itself feels like a fantasy video game or a DnD campaign. This is a great anime to watch in your free time when you just want something light and comedic.
Attack on Titan Final Season
Winter Crunchyroll Anime 2021
This next anime on our list of ones to watch this winter season is a big one. The final season of Attack on Titan is here, and it is bittersweet, to say the least. It is sad to see such a popular anime come to an end, but also very exciting to finally see how the story will wrap up.
With the first season having aired back in 2013, this anime has had time to build up a considerable fanbase. Now the end is near, in what should hopefully be an action-packed final season.
The first episode of the last season aired on Crunchyroll on Jan. 9, so if you’re behind make sure to avoid spoilers and watch as soon as possible.
