7 Avengers: Endgame Questions Everyone’s Still Asking (Spoilers)

avengers: endgame, questions we still have

We’re still reeling after Avengers: Endgame. While it provides closure to so much of the MCU, there’s still more to come and we have questions Marvel.

Obviously, there’s going to be spoilers in this article and in case you missed the title somehow, here’s one last warning that we’re going to be talking about the plot and ending of Avengers: Endgame.

Black Widow’s Future

One of the most emotional moments in Avengers: Endgame is the untimely death of Natalia Romanova otherwise known as, Black Widow.

When her and Hawkeye head to the past to retrieve the Soul Stone, they both gain the knowledge that one of them will have to be sacrificed in order for the Stone to be given to them.

Losing a loved one is the sacrifice one of them has to make. This results in both of them fighting over who is going to have to perish and who is going to survive.

Unfortunately, after a game of tug and war, Black Widow ends up falling off of a cliff, ending her life with Hawkeye obtaining the Soul Stone.

The big question is: what does her death mean in the big scheme of things in the MCU? There’s apparently a Black Widow standalone film in the works for phase 4 in the Marvel Universe, but now, this film will definitely have to be a prequel… or will it?!

It could take place during the five-year jump after the Thanos snap, as Black Widow was promoted to be the leader of the Avengers which could make for an interesting story.

But would a standalone film make sense when we all know what awaits her fate? The film could still be compelling enough if they give us more insight into her backstory and life before the Avengers, but it all seems sort of pointless at this point in the game.

Spider-Man: Far From Home Taking Place After Endgame

Even though Avengers: Endgame seems to tie up the events of the Infinity Saga quite nicely, phase 3 of the MCU still isn’t really over.

Spider-Man: Far From Home, which releases this summer, will mark the end of the saga and will be taking place after the events of Endgame. To me at least, this is perplexing choice.

In the last scenes of Endgame, we see Peter Parker heading back to school to reunite with his best friend, who doesn’t seem surprised to see Peter alive after his death.

Also, it seems that his friends haven’t aged at all after the Thanos snap, giving us the idea that everybody at his school died and then came back to life?

Considering that Far From Home takes place after Endgame, why has nobody aged? It seems that Far From Home will sort of take place in its own little bubble, with perhaps no mention of Thanos literally killing off half of the human population.

Either way, we’re excited to spend more time with Spidey and even more pumped to see the introduction of Mysterio, who’s being played by Jake Gyllenhaal.

Harley Keener Returns

At Tony Starks very sad funeral scene, we see all of the Avengers and their respective comrades gathered around wearing all black to mourn the death of Iron Man. If you’ve watched all of the films in the MCU, then you’ll more likely recognize everyone, except for one teenage boy who is standing all by himself.

This kid is named Harley Keener had a pretty big role in Iron Man 3, meeting up with and providing aid to Tony in his time of need. He helps Tony with his Iron Man suit, showing off his skills –essentially a whiz kid that knows a lot about tech and science stuff for his age.

At the end of Iron Man 3, we learn that Tony had sent Harley a ton of tech for him to play around with before they parted ways. It seems that Harley and Tony kept in touch, as the aged Harley makes an appearance at the funeral.

This is an obvious tease for something that is bound to happen regarding Harley’s future; will he be the next Iron-person to join up with the Avengers? We’re not entirely sure but we would definitely bet on it.

Will Thor Play a Role in Guardians 3?

Guardians of the Galaxy 3 is back on track with James Gunn directing, and we can expect to see Quill, Rocket Racoon, Groot, and the rest of the crew beating some space butt together like they usually do, but due to a scene at the end of Endgame, it seems that Thor might be ditching Asgard to take a ride into space with the Guardians crew.

We see a comedic scene play out with Quill and Thor, with the both of them discussing who the true captain of the ship is going to be, with Thor expressing interest in playing a big role in the next Guardians film.

Since Thor already has had a trilogy of films of his own, how cool would it be for Thor to be one of the main characters in the next Guardians of the Galaxy movie? The question is still up in the air, but it seems like we’ll be seeing a lot more interaction between Thor and the space crew.

Umm… Where’s Loki?

When Cap, Tony, and Bruce head back in time to retrieve one of the Infinity Stones from during the events of the first Avengers film back in New York, Loki ends up stealing the Tesseract along with one of the precious stones.

With both at his disposal, he disappears and is never to be seen throughout the rest of Endgame. Where did Loki go? Will he form an army once again to combat against the Avengers? Or will never be seeing him again?

His possession of the Soul Stone and the all-powerful Tesseract throws a lot of questions into the air, but maybe the upcoming Disney+ Marvel show starring Thor’s brother will answer some of these hard-hitting questions.

Will Falcon Have a Standalone Film?

All of the time travel and parallel universes can be sort of mind-boggling if you think about it too much, but there’s one thing that’s for sure –the normally aged Captain America is gone from present day due to him going back in time to live out his life with his loved one, Margaret Carter.

After returning the Infinity Stones to their rightful place, Cap doesn’t come back to present-day which reveals that a much older Captain America has been waiting for the right moment to show his face at the end of Endgame. He presents Falcon with his famous shield, setting the scene for Falcon to take over as the next “Captain America.”

This could make way for Falcon to get a standalone film of his own, or he could just begin to start using the shield as a new weapon in his arsenal in future battles –we’re not entirely sure on that, but Cap passing the torch will definitely play a pivotal role in the future of Falcon in the MCU.

Next Villain?

This entire saga of Marvel films were based around one overarching villain, Thanos. Now with the past (and present) Thanos being killed by the Avengers, who will step up to the plate as the next super-powered villain?

Considering that Endgame was one of the first Marvel films without any sort of post-credits scene hinting towards the next film, there’s no tease as to who will be the next big bad.

All we know is that if Disney and Marvel plan on finding a villain to supersede the immense threat that was Thanos, they have a lot of work to do.
