After much delay and confusion, God of War Ragnarok is right around the corner, seeing players pick up where the epic conclusion to 2018’s story left off. Ahead of the launch, performance mode options and graphical specs have been a big talking point, and with that comes the question of Photo Mode availability. In case you were wondering, here’s what you need to know about whether there is a Photo Mode in God of War Ragnarok.
Will God of War Ragnarok Have a Photo Mode?
Unfortunately, God of War Ragnarok does not have a Photo Mode. However, the development team, Santa Monica Studio, has confirmed that Photo Mode will be coming shortly after launch.
The revelation that there wouldn’t be a Photo Mode came from members of the gaming media who have received review copies. In response to one publication tweeting about the lack of a Photo Mode, Santa Monica Studio replied that one will come post-launch. While it is certainly disappointing that this feature is not launch-ready, this exact scenario unfolded in 2018. God of War launched without a Photo Mode, and a May 2018 update introduced the ability to capture in-game screenshots. It was extensive and created a ton of memorable shots, so the wait will certainly be worth it.
That’s all you need to know on whether God of War Ragnarok will have a Photo Mode. After much delay, Kratos and Atreus’s trek will resume on Nov. 9 for PS4 and PS5. If you haven’t already, be sure to familiarize yourself with the latest enemy and combatants trailer that details what to expect from combat, a story trailer that shows off the new DualSense controller, and when preloads will go live for the next big adventure.
