What Is Division Rivals?

Division Rivals is the main game mode in FIFA 23 Ultimate Team. The mode sees you playing against other players online with your teams.

By winning matches, you’ll rise through the ranks, and eventually into the next Division. The aim of the game is to reach Division 1, winning matches and getting yourself the best rewards each and every week.

You need to win around three or four in a row to reach a ‘checkpoint’ within each Division. Reaching a checkpoint means you cannot drop below it, even if you proceeded to lose the next five games that you played.

Reach three of four checkpoints in a Division and you’ll be promoted into the next Division.

How to Get Division Rivals Rewards in FIFA 23

Each week, you’ll need to win at least three matches in order to get any rewards at all for that week, and eight matches to get an ‘upgraded’ reward for that specific Division and Rank.

As such, you want to make sure that you’re winning at least eight matches over the course of a week.

By winning games, you’ll also progress yourself up the Ranks and Divisions. The higher your rank and reward, the better your rewards.

FIFA 23 Division Rivals Rewards Release Times

Rivals rewards are distributed every Thursday. The exact time that they’ll go live will depend on where you are in the world, but to simplify things for you, we’ve included the worldwide release times below:

How to Claim Rivals Rewards in FIFA 23

To claim your rewards, login to Ultimate Team after the times stated in the table above, and you should see a tile that says “Your Division Rivals Rewards are Ready to be Claimed.” Select this and then choose one of the three different bundles of ‘rewards’ you’d like for this week.

The options you’ll have often take the form of tradeable packs as Option 1, more but untradeable versions of the same packs as Option 2, and then a large number of Coins as option 3. Which one you choose comes down to personal preference and how you’re planning to upgrade your team.

Once you’ve made your decision, head over to the ‘Store’ tab to open your pack rewards. Any coins you’ve earned are automatically added to your balance.

Season & Milestone Rewards

Division Rivals now resets with each new ‘FUT Season’ that takes place every six weeks. At the end of each Season, you’ll be given rewards based on the number of games you played. The more games you play, the better your rewards.

Even better, you’ll progress towards these regardless of whether you’re winning or losing matches. Simply playing in the game mode is enough for some of them.

Division & Rank Refreshes Every Season

At the beginning of each new season, all players’ progression is reset and they’ll start in a lower Division. The Division you’ll drop to is determined by where you ended the previous Season.

You’ll always start at the very lowest rank and ‘stage’ within a Division at the start of a new season.
