The answer is, yes, Paul Rudd is in the show and is set to play theater actor Ben Glenroy, a celebrated theater performer who happens to be playing the lead in Oliver’s new play.

Past celebrity appearances in the Hulu original series include Amy Schumer and Sting, both of whom played outsized versions of themselves. According to an interview with TV Line, the writers considered doing the same with Paul but decided it would be much more entertaining to have the notorious Hollywood nice guy play a bit of an arse.

Is Paul Rudd Dead in Only Murders in the Building?

In the Season 2 finale, Glenroy has a tense confrontation with Charles just before stepping out on stage. As he begins his scene, it becomes apparent that the actor is unwell, and within moments, he collapses on the floor, a trail of blood trickling from his mouth.

The Season 3 plot is currently under development, but in the aforementioned interview, the creators say Rudd will likely play a very exciting role throughout the season, in much the same way that Bunny was an active cast member of Season 2, even after her suspicious and untimely death.
