Nintendo has just released a new commercial for the upcoming Splatoon 3, and it involves some actors playing the game while avoiding real-life ink splatters. It’s a pretty creative demonstration of the “biggest mess wins” concept of the game.
In Splatoon 3, Turf Wars involve a third-person shooting battle between two teams that both try to cover the field with the most amount of ink before time runs out. As you can imagine, it gets pretty messy, and that’s exactly what happens in this commercial.
Four actors are each playing Splatoon 3 on their respective Nintendo Switch systems, but yellow and blue ink-like paint splatters the streets and buildings around them.
Though the commercial is pretty entertaining, it only demonstrates Turf Wars, just one of the game modes in Splatoon 3. A recent Splatoon 3 Direct presentation dove into many more aspects of the game, which releases next month. You can get a summary of and watch that entire presentation, which goes into the different modes and features of the game, right here.
There will also be a timed demo at the end of August that will allow you to try out Turf War battles like you can see in the commercial (real-life ink splatting not included), and you can read about when that takes place and how to participate right here.
If you’re interested in learning more about a special edition Splatoon 3 Nintendo Switch OLED that’s launching later this month, you can read about it right here, and you can stay up to date on the new Splatoon amiibo that will be releasing this holiday right here.
