The Fortnite week 8 challenges have leaked following the 20.30 update being released ahead of their release next week. In this guide, we’ll be talking through what they are, how much XP you’ll be awarded for completing each one, and highlight the particularly tricky ones. We’ll also be providing links to detailed challenge guides for the more complicated ones in the coming days.
Thanks to iFireMonkey for sharing these challenges before they actually go live in the game. The Fortnite week 8 challenges will release on May 12 at 6:00am PT/ 9:00am ET/ 2:00pm BST.
All Fortnite Week 8 Quests
- Deal Damage to Opponents from 10 Meters or Less with the Drum Shotgun (150)
- Travel 1000 Meters in the Choppa (1000)
- Plant Saplings at Bomb Crater Clusters (3)
- Detonate Remote Explosives while Sliding (2)
- Call in an Air Strike on a Tank (1)
- Refuel a Repair Torch at a Gas Pump (2)
- Deal Damage to Enemies with the Combat SMG (500)
All of the challenges listed above are what you’ll automatically see when they go live. The two quests listed below are called ‘replacement’ challenges and will only be available if one needs to be replaced.
- Open Cash Registers (3)
- Get an Elimination with a Pistol, SMG, or Shotgun (1)
Completing each challenge will award you with 20,000 XP to help you level up your Battle Pass further.
In terms of how difficult these challenges are to complete, for the most part they’re very straightforward. The trickiest one may well be the one requiring players to ‘Plant Sapling at Bomb Crater Clusters,’ as you’ll need to seek out these different locations and the area could be quite busy while other players try and complete the challenge. We’ll have a guide detailing the exact locations of these in the coming days, though, to help make this that little bit easier.
Calling in an Air Strike on a tank also suggests that the Air Strike throwable weapon will be making a return. You’ll simply need to throw this and have it land near a tank and hope that it doesn’t move before the air strike drops. How rare the Air Strike will be remains to be seen.
Finally, the only other challenge we could see being a little time-consuming is traveling 1000 meters in the Choppa. While the actual process of traveling 1000 meters isn’t difficult, it’ll be actually getting inside one before other players that may prove to be a little difficult. This will again depend on how rare these are, but you’ll have more luck completing this a few days/ weeks after the challenges release once other players have completed it.
That’s everything you need to know on completing the Fortnite week 8 challenges. For more tips and tricks, be sure to check out the links below.
