When it comes to buying cars in Forza Horizon 5, you have two options. Players can either choose to spend their credits on a brand-new car from the Autoshow, or they can choose to buy a car from another player via the online-based Auction House. In this guide, we’ll be explaining everything you need to know about how to buy cars in Forza Horizon 5, so you can spend those hard-earned credits on the car of your dreams.
Buying Cars from the Autoshow in Forza Horizon 5
Go to any House that you’ve purchased or any of the Horizon Festival sites and enter them by pressing X. Next, you’ll want to navigate to the ‘Buy and Sell’ tab and then select Autoshow.
When in the Autoshow, you’ll then get a massive list of all cars you can buy. They’re listed in alphabetical order by their manufacturer, so Acura and Alpine are first, with Volkswagen and Zenvo at the very end.
Select the car you want to purchase and press A, then select the livery or paint style you want from the ‘Recommended Designs’ screen that appears. If you don’t want a recommended design, just press Y to access the base color options for the vehicle.
Press A on the next screen and then a message will appear to confirm you want to proceed with the purchase. Press A again on this and voila, the car will be yours.
You can either choose to hop into it immediately, or you can send it to your garage for later on.
Buying Cars from the Auction House
- From any of your purchased Houses or Horizon Festival sites, access the ‘Buy & Sell Tab’ and then select ‘Auction House.’
- Go to ‘Search Auctions’ and then enter the make and model of the car you’re looking for.
- Press the ‘Confirm’ option and then scroll through the auctions that meet your criteria.
Press A on an auction you’d like to bid on.
- You can either place a bid, or choose the ‘Buy Out’ option to buy the car immediately, often at a higher price.
Once purchased, or if your bid wins the auction, your car will automatically be added to your Garage.
