You’re probably here because you just ran into the spookiest enemies in Elden Ring. Skeletons are without a doubt one of the most annoying enemies you’ll run into in the Lands Between. Not only do they relentlessly swing at you if you wander too close, but they can also endlessly revive after you drop their HP to zero. Here’s everything you need to know about how to kill skeletons in Elden Ring.
How to Kill Skeletons in Elden Ring
Whether you’ve seen skeletons already or if you’ve never run into them before and you need to know how to take them out, it’s important to know that you don’t need any special weapons or magic to kill skeletons once and for all.
All you need is given to you at the start, even if you’re just using your hands and feet. But just because you can pummel skeletons into submission with your extremities doesn’t mean that you should.
When you encounter a skeleton in Elden Ring, just battle as you would any normal enemy at first. Swing your sword or fire off Sorceries to drop their health to zero. Their bony bodies lay broken in bits on the ground. But then something strange starts to happen. A glowing ooze will begin to appear around the pile of calcified remains. This is when you want to strike. Wait too long and you’ll have to defeat the skeleton all over again.
When you start to see that glowing substance around the bones, strike it with any weapon you have. This will stop the skeletons from being able to revive.
Another example of a way to kill skeletons in a more specific case is with the Elden Ring necromancer boss called Tibial Mariner. Defeating this boss will make all of the skeletons it revived collapse and die. Alternatively, you can kill the skeletons using the standard method during this boss fight.
Time needed: 1 minute
Here’s a quick summary of how to kill skeletons in Elden Ring:
- Kill it like you would any other enemy.
Just get it’s HP all the way down and the skeleton will collapse.
- Wait for the glowing ooze.
Once this appears it’s time to strike. Wait too long and it’ll revive.
- Attack the glowing substance.
This kills the skeleton.
- Alternatively, you can also use an Occult weapon to prevent the auto-revival function.
Once you’ve unlocked the Roundtable Hold and have access to Smith Master Hewg, you can add the Occult affinity to a weapon, which will kill undead enemies as well.
